Actually the Antelop line only has 22 passenger services for the day . The only reason why we are getting 79 services is they are separating most the the Lancaster services into two parts. If they didn't break those services up in Antelope line they would be 2 hours and 10 minutes long. On the Ventura County line looking at 24 playable services to Burbank down town whic are around 20 minutes long. As far as AI from all other branches I came up with the fllowing numbers below: Antelope Valley- 22 playable services( most are split into at least two parts) San Bernandino- 36 AI Riverside-11 AI only Perrris Valley-12 AI only Orange County-20 Ai only Ventura county- 24 Playable to Burbank-downtown Freight- looking around 12 services
so most of the routes won’t be the full 2 hour run? That’s kinda disappointing… Also, I highly doubt they’d add AI trains for the other lines, dovetail is too lazy for that All this being said tho, I’m really excited for the route, I live along the line and I’m really excited to play it :)
Formation editor was also mentioned to be added in TSW4 which is an absolutely huge addition because now we don't have to use default TSW Trainsets we can make own own
And if people want dtg to stop the bs new games and with releasing buggy routes that barely seem tested. Everyone needs to stop purchasing and maybe they’ll listen for once.
Thing is mate so many will still buy, people are just idiots. The games are barely functioning properly as it is and they are making a 4th... joke of a franchise now. Would rather play TSC
So, I knew from not 1) being a content/scenario creator/editor, 2) livery designer, or 3) a primary PC player (console mainly) the ‘new features’ were definitely not grabbing me. I likely have more game time hours in this sim over the past year vs all other games… but this announcement certainly left me underwhelmed, concerned about the direction and priorities…. maybe disappointed even. You know when your most anticipated feature is ‘haptic feedback’(me!), it’s going to be a tough sell, especially this quick after 3 which I still have content to play. This will be a deep sale at best for me. Thanks for your coverage and thoughts. BTW Thanks for all your Sims content as well
I look at TSW4 release just like a PACK x 3 routes for $49.99 + improvements. I think it worth it. Each new DLC is like $30 .... I'm very excited about volumetric fog and Haptic feedback on PS5 controller (vibration/lights/sounds) 😍 I have like 35 DLC routes and still i've played like 10 in journey mode 😂 but definitely I'll pre order TSW4
Everything except the routes just had to be free patches on tsw3. Stuttering is stil in the game. And i love the excisting routes in tsw3 but when do we get Belgium, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain or East Europe routes? Missed chance, i never buy Tsw4, it's a rip-off.
Indeed, just look at games like Euro Truck and American Truck Simulator, they get new features as free updates and map expansions as paid DLC. This gives players the freedom of choosing which maps they want and which ones they don't want, while still being able to enjoy new game features (and allows players to stay up to date when they don't have a lot of money to spend). As for the countries that aren't in TSW yet, I think that will change once they editor becomes available, I think a lot of new maps (and those countries respective trains) will start being developed. Is TSW4 worth it? Heck no. Does it have potential? Yes, but only if they stop releasing new versions every year or even couple of years. They just need to stick to one version and update it.
I was ready to be frustrated by them announcing a new numbered game a year after the last one. But when you actually look at it, it’s far cheaper than buying individual routes when they release those. And I like the 3 new routes. I don’t see there being anything much to not like. Aside from perhaps if they don’t bring future promised updates to TSW3. But anyone who really cares about that is pretty much certain to buy TSW4 anyway. So I don’t really see any reason to criticise them that much. I’d prefer if they did a numbered release every 2 years and expansion packs in between. But it’s also probably easier for them to implement bigger technical changes by just releasing a whole new game each year. In the past they’ve had worse technical problems at launch when doing expansions.
The technical changes and features though aren't even that major. It’s basically tsw3 with some improvements. Sure the price isn't bad, but people will essentially have to buy a route that they don't want just to get continued fixes that they had promised for older content. That is not acceptable at all
@@Atrail_Mckinley4786 I’m not sure if the new fog and other effects would be possible as a patch. But they have a history of breaking things when they do expansions. And with all the other things they added, I also find it hard to imagine them updating TSW3 without something going very wrong. I think you’re better off with a clean installation of the updated game. They could maybe have called it TSW 3: (expansion pack name), and then made a version without the new routes available for free to existing TSW3 players. But you’d have to delete TSW3 and re-download all your DLC. That’s possibly the only way to keep absolutely everyone happy. But how many people would actually care so much about the small improvements promised, and not buy TSW4? 1% of players? Or could it be nobody? Maybe some players wouldn’t be able to afford the game at launch, but if so, there are sales pretty often. But most TSW players I would bet, don’t play many other games and can afford a mid-price game once a year, even if they don’t buy many individual DLC routes. And I doubt many people think it’s not good value for money, even if they maybe are not super into one of the routes. And I would say that the type of people who complain this much probably buy a lot of the DLC too.
@christill DTG don't have a good track record of updates to be honest. TSW 3 came with a bunch of problems so I can't see how that wouldn't change with tsw4. They are just doing it for profit. Heck, they would've still made money if they done a free core upgrade separating tsw3 to 4 for existing users and just charging for the dlc. Not really complicated to understand. I haven't bought any of the dlc for tsw3 and used gamepass

It took a little while to get all of the DLC available, but that was fine. I own all the DLC ever released and it didn’t bother me. I was playing the TSW 3 base routes and they kept me busy for a while. Although I guess the main issue was possibly not having layers from other routes from the DLCs that weren’t available to re-download yet. But I can’t really remember now. It can’t have been that bad if I forgot. And if you were playing on GamePass for the last year for basically free assuming you didn’t subscribe to GamePass specifically to play TSW, what are you complaining for? It’s not as if you’ve sunk any money into it to begin with. I’m no fan of capitalist profiteering myself, but I don’t see dovetail as being exceptionally greedy in the gaming industry. There are so many worse offenders.
@christill And you totally miss the point. TSW 3 did have issue's. DLC'S weren't available, new patches broke other things, it was a rinse repeat cycle. If you like tsw, that is fine, but tsw3 did have problems throughout it's life cycle that will continue with tsw4. Just because I played it in gamepass doesn't make it immune from criticism
I agree with you on American Steam. Like we have soooo many in history. We can even do the steam engines from the 40s and 50s that dont even look like what most ppl think steam engines look like

Like they already do somethings in the scenario mode( i dont play those tbh) but then again we are asking them to be innovative and they wont do that. Most routes you know you dont even really have to pay attention much cause you know nothing will happen.
It's not a good deal because you shouldn't be forced into buying routes you're not interested in just to keep your access to any you might one day want if they ever release it, instead of abandoning it in less than a year. Cause you know they'd never do such a thing....
I have 70+ DLCs in TSW, and I have been with the brand since it had like 5 routes. This stream got me so angry that, yeah, I'm done with DTG. It probably will not hurt them, but I just can't support this.
