Every time I see images of the road surface in America, I am amazed at the poor maintenance of your roads. What do you pay road tax for? I don't find it strange that motorcyclists fall because of holes in the road or manhole covers that have been placed in the roads inappropriately. I (as a Dutch person) am happy that I can at least see where part of my road tax goes. If anything is seen to be unsafe in the road condition, we just need to report it and it will be repaired in no time. The same applies to sidewalks and cycle paths.
It depends on the state. Some states spend the money on their roads some dont. Ive found its a lot of southern and modwest states that do it but it happens everywhere greedy polotiicians embezzle from the road funds 😂
Its pretty much the same in Canada too. Back where I used to live there was a pothole down one of the main streets that was there for YEARS before it was finally filled in.

I ride 12 - 15,000 miles annually, less then 900 miles on my car. I guess at the age of 75, and 2 accidents, NOT my fault, since I was 16,, I must be doing something correct...
I believe it's instinctive. It takes real presence of mind to break out of that tunnel vision and consciously alter course. California Superbike School addresses this in "A Twist of the Wrist"
9:20... it's easy to rewind and look at what's going on in your rearview mirror before you zoom in to make your point. The car never sped up on you, you jumped in on it. If you're gonna pontificate, at least be righteous. Likewise, you didn't slow down to give yourself braking room, you slowed down to dominate the driver behind you.

I'm guessing the electric speedo doesn't readout if it's in neutral and he wanted to see the mph? 4th would be a lot safer of a gear to be in than 1-2nd that's for damn sure if he accidentally let go of the clutch.

@@randomhero123 The speedo measures off the front wheel, not the rear. If speedometers didn't work if the engine was in neutral, everyone would just claim they hit a false neutral and couldnt tell how fast they were going for every speeding ticket ever issued. Having the bike in any gear for something like this is an odd idea cos a) as he already realised above, the bike will have less friction on the drive train in neutral and b) it's way safer not to have to hold the clutch in. Even in 4th, imagine accidentally dumping the clutch with no power on.
