It amazes me, the things you find - the little bits & pieces and odds & ends - to use as doll accessories, and put together complete dolly outfits, at 10 pence a piece! My favorite of your three Boxie Girls is…….*drumroll*……Haven in pink & green!!! She so much reminds me of one of my Tuesday Taylors, complete with hair ribbon! (I have an obsession with pretty decorative ribbons and tassels.) Speaking of dolls going horseback riding, I have a Tuesday Taylor dressed up in a pirate getup - complete with binoculars, a sword in her hair, and an eyepatch!!! - positioned on a….’79, was it?…My Pretty Pony.😊

Hi Candy, they look amazing! A random memory popped into my brain when I saw the pink and green floral dress. I was pretty sure that the dress came from the Pippa dolls of the 1970s. I'm sure I had that one years ago. I looked on Etsy, and there's someone selling a book about Pippa doll clothes and, would you believe it, the dress is on the front cover 🤯❤

I wish my thrift shops actually had dolls. The ones near me tend to only have a few stuffed animals and a handful of so-so porcelain dolls. I would love to find some old Barbie clothes to fit some of my old dolls. Most of the newer fashion packs are aren’t really my style.
Maybe your ghost will be too busy admiring the dolls to cause anymore mischief! 🤣
An Edit to Add: The boxy girls’ hair reminded me of a tip I saw in a post for doll hair that really helped me fix a frizzy one. Don’t use plastic toothed brushes on them. Use a brush with metal teeth, like a wire toothed slicker brush or a wig brush for synthetic wigs. Supposedly, the metal teeth cause less friction on the hair fibers, leading to smoother comb outs. I used a metal comb on my frizzy doll. Basically, think of styling doll hair as like styling a synthetic fiber wig. It’s a tip that I never would have thought of if someone hadn’t made a very informative video about it.

I have 4 Boxy girls. 2 I bought new in Wilco, one before the lockdown, one after the lockdown. They were reduced to £3 and I was feeling miserable! These 2 are from the blind box series. There are tons of different ones so you will have plenty of options to find some more! One is from the charity shop, the same as yours with the yellow bow. I dressed her in a Snap Star fashion pack. She looks great in it. The other is from the boot sale and she had her outfit.
The Snap stars fashion packs were £1 in the Entertainer. Sad for Snap Stars unfortunately.
It was of course a few years ago. Snap Stars have been discontinued and I am not too sure what happened to Boxy girls.
I buy many dolls clothes, shoes and accessories in carboot sales very cheaply. It is fantastic for redressing thrifted dolls. A huge part of my collection has been bought in carboot sales. It is easy to build a great collection for very little money. Especially for people who enjoy rummaging! 😉

You have good charity shops. Many are becoming expensive. I used to find good dolls not that long ago but recently I only see Barbie and dolls I don't collect.
I am sure there must be some carboot sales near you. I have been going for years. I love it. I enjoy the rummaging and the day out. It gives me the feeling I am further away from London than I am.

So not quite warm enough left some hair untameable. I’ve since learned that book washing calms hair down (but also destroys tinsel and can destroy curls) so it’s a balance between warm enough but not too hot if the hair type can’t take it. I wish the uk had mixer taps it would make it so much easier ❤️

@@kathykerr1202 oh sorry it’s an auto correct it should say boil washing. We don’t have mixer taps in the uk so it’s harder to control temperature if washing under a running tap it’s either boiling under one tap or freezing under the other

Also if your interested at tk max they have steffi dolls for a really cheap price , lots of different ones and I really enjoy them so might be worth a look 😊
