Nagasaki - the second city alongside Hiroshima that showed the whole world what human spirit can achieve. Nagasaki, which once was the only link between Japan and the rest of the world for around three centuries became world famous on 9th August 1945 when a second atomic bomb was dropped over it. Although a total of 17 cities were shortlisted, including Fukuoka, Kyoto, Kokura, Osaka and others, Nagasaki, the most cosmopolitan port of Japan became the ill-fated one. But, Nagasaki has regained its old glory and now a thriving new city.
