It physically hurts me to see this track is 13(!) years old; that's not to mention all the comments of people saying "Oh wow, I listened to this in high school!" I was a grown-ass man when this came out and I literally thought it had only been, like, five years, tops.
Man I somehow someway came across this on my ITunes back shit like 10 years ago whenever this came out, and for YEARS I struggled remembering this brothers name or album, but still remembered HIS BARS….just now today March, 4th 2020…it popped in my head and I was lucky enough to find it on TH-cam…GOD BLESS TH-cam….this brought back so many memories of those days and times, I could almost smell and taste specific memories associated with the MUSIC…that’s magical, inspirational, mystical really, and also amazing that it exists and is so readily available to us as humans, to do with it as we please, create music, listen, dissect, engage, SHARE, educate, inspire or sample…the uses for music is almost incite and ever growing just the same as this Universe is, the fact that we find ourselves floating on a rock amongst trillions of other rocks is a trip in itself. My last thought as I’m basically journaling off the top of my head ranting as I listen to this Good Brother Shad is just wow, good, bad or indifferent, this thing as we know it, music…is a privilege to have known about. Thank you whoever sees this, and thank you Shad, and thank you Canada for the good times and great memories, the soulful sounds and the readiness to inspire change.
This music video was so far ahead of its time and somehow also a perfect capsule of the time it was made in. Still to this day one of my favorite song/video combinations! Much respect to SHAD

Seriously, SHAD. If you read this, I would like you to know you literally changed my life. I found a new level of maturity after listening to this.. :)
I saw Shad in my hometown live with no more then 100 people there, one of the dopest experiences of my life. We even got to meet up with him after and chat for a bit, he's as down to earth as his music is. Just a great genuine human being. Canadian Hip-Hop has a king
Dam has it been 10 years already, this is my Jam, it’s an absolute jam, dude makes timeless music, and dresses humble. Shad has always been in my top 10, Top 3 for sure.
The video editing is brilliant, and ties in perfectly. Watch how the illustration Shad makes matches the illustration of the video going reverse, and then going Forward.
i live in the UK and my canadian friend brought me here.... this song gives me hope for hip hop! keep it up shad! keep it canada!! killing the hip hop game
Another classic track by Shad. Canada's best emcee by far. Love how the video for Drop by The Pharcyde is shown at the end... definite inspiration for the way this video was directed.
Dude this video is blowing my mind!! SHAD! Did you write the treatment for this? HOW DID YOU TIME IT OUT? Seriously. The rapper in me bows down to you. The director in me bows down to you. The producer in me is pretty sure you spent $3 on this and is VERY IMPRESSED. Incredible.
12 years ago? Holy fuck i don't wanna grow old but here we are growing old. I remember hearing this on... a Canadian music channel? MUCH music now I remember lol. I'm 21 now Holy shit
I know, he's amazing, totally underrated. I found Old Prince in the library of all places, not expecting it to be much, but when I put it on... just blown away. Amazing.
nice to see this guy is finally some recognition. remember listening to him rap at a festival and immediately loved him. never seen such a talented mc that also avoids swearing and putting down others.

First heard this as a teenager but couldn't find the song for the longest but I just remembered the title today. Hearing it again felt like feeling the sun on your face again.
I live in the south of england where it is very rare anyone has heard of shad or other brilliant artists, but i think shad is amazing and i hope this proves all his fans arent all from north america :)
Shad's a Canadian legend. Give this man a stamp or a statue or something.
i first heard this when i was 17! i am 26 now, still gives me the chills! TIMELESS
Bro I was 19 and now I'm 29. I feel it too
Funny how some things come full circle, was 16 now 27 hah, cheers
Whoa I can’t remember if I was 17 or 18 but I’m 28 now! Are we forming a gang? The Rose Gardens?
@@RequestAssassin maybe not forming a gang per se but perhaps a form of synchronicity? Either way kinda cool
Update, I am now 28 still feel the same way 🏆
Crazy how he made the vid match the lyrics in perfect symmetry. Absolute genius.
Isn't that the point of a music video?
Jeff Schultz the entire thing is recorded backwards
@@beatleschica yeah its incredibly genius.... beyond the point of a normal person's comprehension.
I think Pharcyde did the same thing!

That ending is fantastic. "Whatcha watching?" "Little Pharcyde." "Oh, cool, never heard of them." Perfect way to acknowledge that Spike Jonze video.

This is hands down, or if raising your hands shows the same level of appreciation, the best music video I've ever seen.
You never question when you get the blessings, so don't get vexed when your life is stressed...
This is better than anything I've heard from down the road in London, UK for a long time. Love the funky vibe and the nod to the Pharcyde.
