Outstanding review of a Hymer Aktiv. Impressed how Hymer seems to have chosen the best vendors for interior equipment such as Sony and Thule. Guess when you offer the Best Warrantee in the RV business you don’t take chances. You did amazing using only a hand-held smartphone. Also shows you know your business. Had one but traded it off. The bed is too high to be able to get into without using a little step stool, especially for an older person like me. it has several usb ports by the table, bed, in front, etc so that part was very nice. loved the front chairs swivel so makes it easy to get out. Great for boondocking with the solar panels. Didn't need to use the built in generator.
The shower head actually does extend pretty far, im 5'10 and it reaches above my head enough to shower. I work at Erwin Hymer Group, in the video he doesn't extend the full thing.
I LOVE my Roadtrek Zion..also on a Ram Chassis. Very similar to this vehicle. I've used it to move furniture and lumber MANY times. I also have shipped my two Kayaks in the center aisle. What I LIKE about this vehicle: - The two seats behind the driver's seat. Makes for a smoother ride for the passengers AND see out the front. - The cassette toilet since I don't have to look for a drop station. - The overhead skylight. - Bathroom better than Zion - Beds are almost a conventional bed you'd have at home. And no seams. - The side windows open out rather than slide. Better if rain. - LIKE the pull down screen in the back and on the side door. Easier than having to zip on on. - More storage under the bed than on the Zion. What I DON'T like about this vehicle: - The upright bed extension inconvenient when shipping boxes in the back. Must be dropped. - The spare tire on the behind the left side rear door. I have to open BOTH doors often. Pain to lower spare. - The spare tire support tends to rust easily and has to be repainted often. - The back side windows are not as large as on my Zion. - I'd like to be able to sit more people in back, like on the Zion. But obviously can't because no seat belts. - MSRP 10K more than the Zion.

still an air gap between the screen and the window at the front. need a fill in with insulation in the winter, or something to go over the inside part of the metal screen to keep the cold air out. maybe a homemade piece to fill in.
I wanna see the LOFT EDITION. I think that's what it's called. Also on the loft version can you still get the solar panels on the roof. A video tour would be nice.

The Hymer units are now being built in a separate facility and are a different brand. The Roadtrek line should remain to have differences from the Hymer. Although now that Hymer owns the Roadtrek line, it would not be surprising if you start to see some changes integrated to both lines
It is called a Wet Bath or upside down Bidet as I like to refer to them as. And even though Hymer now owns Roadtrek, it will bode well for Roadtrek. These smaller class B are made for 1 or 2 persons, not a family of 3 or 5. An oven would be the wrong decision for a unit this small. Toaster ovens work great and plug right in, food tastes and cooks the same. Some of these comments I feel are coming from those who have never been in a motorhome or understand Rv living. If you want an Rv to feed and sleep 3 or more, look into the class C not B.

The awning is on the door side of the motorhome right above the sliding rear door and extends to the back of the coach. It is a power awning with built in LED lights.
As someone else has mentioned, the location of the propane tank, exposed inches above the pavement, is TERRIBLE! For a unit such as this they should’ve abandoned propane altogether and went with induction or even solely a convection microwave.
The majority of drivable motorhomes have a propane tank under it's body. I'm buying an Axion similar to this model but smaller only because I like the more compacted style and the fact I can park in any normal parking space like a car but I've had a 25ft coachmen and propane was located under the body right by the engine area but seperated from the engine area next to the step into the Rv.
How come American Camper Van companies just slop in motel-looking or hotel-looking furniture in there and call it done? I don't really know. But, it doesn't seem like it will last. How come they don't integrate it better into the van. So, it feels or is actually will last as long as the structure of the van? Do you know what I mean? Kind of like how Japanese Camper Vans are like. Or that Volkswagen California XXL concept? I don't like the cheap motel-room thing or even expensive hotel-room look thing that most of these American camper vans sell you. I think they look cheap but they still sell it to you at almost the price of a real freakin' house. I don't get it.

The bed area is not a well-laid out plan. A waste of space for only the bed. This could've been a sitting area/comfortable sofa area easily converted into a bed. Also, that sitting area right behind the driver and the passenger seats should've been more flexible to be able to convert into a single bed. Another wasted area not utilized to its full potential.

All looks great EXCEPT the bed. They should have made that 2 couches (and maybe a table) that change into a bed, only downside of this van design and actually a pretty poor use of space at the back end. That could have been a great place to entertain with a open doors looking out onto a beautiful view.
nick woodward I really like the bed design as you can walk through the van, easily store equipment inside the cabinets that would be inaccessible if it was a full bed, use the top of the cabinets as a work station or ,ore storage and for so many other reasons. Guess that’s why there are so many options for folks.

Price is often discounted at dealers. Actually, the Hymer Activ is a good value compared to some of the competition - it's all relative.
As for water, shower & both sinks drain to a 23 gallon / 87 liter grey tank. The toilet cassette is separate, at 4.6 U.S. gal./17 L.

Can you drive a travel trailer to the supermarket? Not to mention that with this there’s no need to constantly hook-up/un-hook the trailer from the vehicle.

The bed area is not a well-laid out plan. A waste of space for only the bed. This could've been a sitting area/comfortable sofa area easily converted into a bed. Also, that sitting area right behind the driver and the passenger seats should've been more flexible to be able to convert into a single bed. Another wasted area not utilized to its full potential.
They have a sofa bed in back as an option., now. And check out the loft option for additional sleeping.

All looks great EXCEPT the bed. They should have made that 2 couches (and maybe a table) that change into a bed, only downside of this van design and actually a pretty poor use of space at the back end. That could have been a great place to entertain with a open doors looking out onto a beautiful view.
This model can be ordered with a rear power sofa option & a table.
What a terrible bed design. Might as well make it fixed and have permanent storage underneath, or forego it and have a murphy bed
nick woodward I really like the bed design as you can walk through the van, easily store equipment inside the cabinets that would be inaccessible if it was a full bed, use the top of the cabinets as a work station or ,ore storage and for so many other reasons. Guess that’s why there are so many options for folks.
Only fiat could make the Ford Transit look attractive. lol
