Thanks so much for making this tutorial! I've been doing it wrong the whole time because I never knew the extra "inflation" step and made baskets out of flat pieces. They always went wrong and ripped on the way; well, now I understand what went wrong ^^'
I think this is a good tutorial for a beginner like myself because origami to the beginner can seem intimidating because you have to be so perfect, So I think seeing it this way, using the construction paper and him just winging it to just get the steps out there in a crude fashion was /is a good idea,it made me think I could do this,I think he just wants the beginner to just get down the repetition of making the pieces, accuracy will come later
I've been learning how to do this fold with copy paper that I have. What type of paper are you using? It looks pretty heavy-duty like cardstock. Thank you
i mean i see how it can help time wise...but it isn't the best way...it might be the fast way but not really the easy way and with 5 sheets of paper makes the folds impossible to see in my opinion i don't really like this method
I love the thinks you make. .. I want to try it to... Which tutorial is symple for me to start? Thanx for sharing this beautiful creations... Greetz from Holland
One of those can be bigger than another, but It MUST be at 90 degree angle to the edge of the paper. Otherwise pieces will be in bad shape. After folding some pieces the slow way you should feel where are the middle line.
I have seen these pieces used for vases, dragons, swans, owls, and more. What do you think would be best for a beginning level art class? I myself am intermediate level but my art club is mostly beginners.
I was wondering can I use construction paper? ? And wat r the measurements of the rectangles or the big paper and does it have to be perfectly folded or it doesnt matter if they come out kinda sloppy? ?
***** Then how do you get colored paper?, I really need paper that is not so rough but is like printer paper and is colored like the ones in the video. Do you know where to get those?
It really helped me a lot! I was wondering how to make pieces more rounded, my was so pointy! You're so fast foldind these, Iwish someday I'll be as fast as you are! Thank you for the very good video!
Hello Girnelis, I had come across this video, and found it very helpful. Please help me with my doubts, Where can i find 7*5inches rectangular origami paper? Do we have to use origami sheet for making swan? I have 6*6 inches square paper. Kindly help me out. Thanks
im not good with scissors so i just rip the paper at the crease, normally it works for me if the paper is torn when crease is at the right angle... i try to make all peices identical which is why i was afraid of stacking paper, since it shifts sometimes. I dont have any need for base triangles to be different sizes you see, but ill try your way
If you search amazon, you will find black paper. Personally I use AstroBrights 24 weight, but any kind is up to you. I am in the U.S. and most stores don't carry black paper, so we have to order it online.
I used to follow your pen technique to make the pieces round, but it was very hard. My hands hurt so bad when i did it. Does this fingers technique work the same way as the pen? Is it badder or better?
"Make here...make here.....make here.....make here a piece round"
Awwww so cute 🥰7:00
Great tutorial! First I was irritated, when you repeated the movements. But then I cacthed the point. Brilliant!
Fantastic tutorial, so much attention to detail, I have no words to congratulate this talented Maestro of the 3D origami art.

Start slowly. After folding some you'll be able to fold it precisely and with lots of practise you'll get faster.
Yes,you're right
@Kyle Isaiahiam also doing same
Thanks for all the tutorials on how to make these origami 3d models
A helpful tip is to fold only one sheet of paper and then paper clip that to the top of the other four and then cut. That what it’s a little neater

Folding FIVE sheets at the same Time makes your pieces too raw and bad shaped after you cut them.
...especially if you use paper with 60 gsm or higher thickness.
Agreed
Its fine for me.

Sometimes I do.

Foe the black paper are you using cardstock and where do you get it.Do you get the black paper in Office Depot
Thank you boss.
Se nota que todo lo haces al madrazo -.- por algo existe la regla y el lápiz.
Pero usarlos es más tardado y menos efectivo
Ay si me encanta trancar miles de líneas con lápiz y regla es muy divertido.

I would recommend to use origami paper here as it is too tin and expensive in my opinion. I recommend using A4 80gsm printer paper.
awsome thanks
Excuse me Girnelis, It doesn´t matter if some of they are bigger and other smaller? Because I saw that you made them so.

Hi Kate, I found a similar kit on CzechBeadsExclusive website. I guess it is somewhere in the DIY section. The price is ok

When you are using thousands of these the inconsistencies will not be noticeable. It's not something that has to be done perfectly. :)
Yeah but I don't trust myself with scissors, guillotine is another story :D I see what you mean.

What is the size of the small rectangles? Is it 1/32? Because you used 1/32 size in your other videos.
he uses 1/16 most of the times.
