Attended my first Collectors' Convention last April in Columbus, OH. The most difficult part is getting the tickets I subscribed to the Hot Wheels Newsletter which provided the OPPORTUNITY to purchase a ticket. I submitted my application - USPS only - the next day. That was successful. I plan to attend the 2024 Collectors' Convention in Atlanta, GA. I had a blast with some of the nicest people I have ever met! The quality of my collection probably improved 30% in both quality and value from the experience.

I killed two birds with one stone. The Hot Wheels Legends Tour was at Temecula Walmart on Saturday. I left the hotel just before 4am and got to Temecula Walmart at 5:10am. Waited in line at 5:15am till they started selling at 8am. Got to see the cars that participated in the Legends Tour. About 10am I headed back to the convention.

A bro. I want that gold wramblin wrecker so bad. That’s my fav casting. My favorite hot wheels I own are a minty old phone number red line and harder to find blue window one that’s carded.
Would I need to also have a reservation/room at the particular hotel that the convention is associated with in order for me to come in see what all the sellers got in their rooms. Do the hotels allow outsiders to come through? Such as the 2020 Charlotte NC Convention, I already live in Charlotte, so can I just walk in?
Just wanted to give you a shout out to thank you the information. I have been wanting to go ton the LA convention for a while and have not been able to get tickets. I wondered when Mattel first started the conventions if they ever meant for the room to room sales to occur... because other than the tickets that people buy to go to the events during that week and the sales event that is open to the public for one day, Mattel does not make any money off of the room-to-room sales other than the possibility they're getting a kickback from the hotel... is there anybody around that it went to the first 2 to 5 conventions they could tell me what had occurred that that time...

I also found out that if you live in the area of the convention and wanted to shop in the hotel rooms you could get in pretty easily.

lancer787 For safety reasons they ask that only ticket holders be part of the room to room trading, that way all can be accounted for.
