Timber Wolf the kid has a NAG record. Being fast= being great. The fact that he still has many things he can improve is good. I remember watching Kevin Cordes throughout his IL high school career with decent speed but ugly technique. Arizona saw a quick fixer-upper in him and turned him into the best short course breast stroker in NCAA history. Mad respect to Michael Andrew and his coaches

That is amazing. He is younger than I, yet he could DESTROY me. This makes me want to train harder :)

Timber Wolf. You're complaining about him breathing every stroke? Have you ever watched Phelps swim butterfly ever?

    • @AlSpohn

True enough, but I wonder how Phelps/Spitz/etc and this kid would have done if they trained to not breath every stroke, and to never breath off of the wall. Old school, yes, but I'm just curious. We didn't have those huge underwater portions in my day either, so every stroke might be worthwhile if just to support the underwater portion.

      I meannnn, who wouldn't get tired. It's a 2 fly.
Any race you swim, you should be too tired to do any more, showing that you gave it your all

@Timber Wolf you have to take a breath every stroke in 2 fly. You'll die if you don't

When I swam in the 60s we thought you had to breathe no more than every other stroke, and no breath the first two strokes out of the turn. I can look at a video of me swimming, film actually, and take 3 seconds off my 100 time just knowing what I know now. Unfortunately at age 70 I can only swim butterfly if I have fins on!
