I've been binging drugstore loose powder videos and they all give you like 5 different recommendations but don't give any sort of ranking or reasoning between those options and it was so overwhelming for a makeup beginner like me. Your ranking system and pros/cons were so helpful, I finally feel comfortable buying one! Gonna try the fit me!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have such an oily T-Zone and chin, and I'm still learning what works and what doesn't, so I've been on the hunt for good recommendations on a no-fuss setting powder to control the shine a little more as well as help set my makeup without breaking the bank, I.E. I can simply pick up what I'm looking for whenever I go grocery shopping next. I'll be checking more of your videos, including some of the individuals for this particular set. This was such a good breakdown into the what and why. :)

Today I'm going to the drugstore since the Catrice translucent pressed powder has let me down (12h lasting? Nu-uh, more like 2h and accentuates skin texture and your concealer, tinted sunscreen etc ends up looking cakey even if you hidrate deeply) so I'm so glad I found this video!

I want to give you the biggest thank you! I've been struggling for so many years. I have a decent skincare, but my makeup game has been awful. A friend got me last year the Coti Airspun powder from the 🇺🇸 because in my country it’s not available. And I’ve been using only this powder since then. I love it! And a couple of days ago I’ve ordered on ebay the Maybelline fit me powder. I’ve been waiting for this for years now to come to Europe, but no such luck. So now I’m waiting for it to come from California 😂 I can’t wait to try it. I’ve had the Rimmel stay matte one - i did not like it. I also had the one from Nyx. Nice but not amazing. So it seems that we agree on the ratings 😄

Hmm. The Maybelline Fit me is very heavy under my eyes. Quite aging; emphasizes wrinkles after a couple of minutes. Looks very pretty on smooth areas of the face though. My HG was the Too faced Peach Perfect loose powder, but it was discontinued. Dont know what to get to replace it. It was translucent with a slight peach tint, but it was barely there. Very fine powder.

I hope this helped you find a loose powder for your under eye area, loose powder over the entire face definitely doesn't work for everyone so I can completely understand with that. I do plan on reviewing some Physicians Formula in the future with this oily skin series, I have tried their loose powder foundation and I loved it but other than that, that is all that I have tried.

Get the Maybelline Fit Me Setting Powder in Medium Dark 30 or above depending on your skin tone. I'm a NW44 in mac and Maybelline Fit Me Medium 30 works perfect for me.

Setting powders are used to set your concealer, and finishing powders are used to set the entire face, it sets everything in place. So it's used at the end before you use your setting spray
I use FitMe pressed powder. But doesnt hold much for oil or sweat. Does anybody know if the longevity between the loose and pressed significantly different?? My skin in the recent years turned oily after turning 28. Before I had realy dry and poreless skin. So oily skin journey is realy new & unbelievably confusing to me 🙃😔
9 months late, but blotting papers! Not a makeup, but keeps shine away throughout the day. You blot the nose when it starts looking oily, and it sucks away all the oil:)
Setting powder is a powder that sets your liquid/cream makeup. (Concealers, foundation etc). Translucent just means transparent (has no colour pigment, so most skintones can use it) You can have a translucent setting powder

Super oily girl here and Revlon was one of the worst for me somehow. The best is Loreal Infallible so far.
Revlon was super cakey, all texture visible, and cakes apart so fast

Is the pressed powder version of fit me just as good in performance? I was thinking of getting the pressed in translucent
I'm not sure, I hear it's really good but i haven't tried it just yet. I do plan on trying it when I do my pressed powder wars!🤗

can the Maybelline one be used as a setting powder and a finishing powder?whats the difference between setting powder and a finishing powder?i have oily skin lol just thought it was important to say 😁😭
Setting powders are used to set your concealer, and finishing powders are used to set the entire face, it sets everything in place. So it's used at the end before you use your setting spray

But doesnt hold much for oil or sweat.

My skin in the recent years turned oily after turning 28.
Before I had realy dry and poreless skin.

9 months late, but blotting papers! Not a makeup, but keeps shine away throughout the day. You blot the nose when it starts looking oily, and it sucks away all the oil:)
What is the difference between setting powder and translucent powder?
Setting powder is a powder that sets your liquid/cream makeup. (Concealers, foundation etc).
Translucent just means transparent (has no colour pigment, so most skintones can use it)
You can have a translucent setting powder

edit: this video is so useful! i’m looking for a powder for back to school that will last all day long in school as i don’t wear make up and i would just rather wear a powder to help with my oilyness, i’ve been using baby powder but after a while i’m black and pretty dark so i have to look like a ghost for a while before the whiteness starts going away 😭

Great video... so one question, once you apply the setting powder do you need to also use the fixing spray on top?? Or can that be skipped?
Thank you! I do prefer to use a setting spray as my last step because I think it just emulsifies the powder and makes the makeup become one.

You can use a sponge or densely-packed brush.
