    Im seeing comments about not needing to remove so many parts to replace the spur, but i found your method to be very informative as i havent taken mine apart yet so now i know how that entire assembly works with each individual part as your broke it down. Thank you. Great video

    These models do not have a crush assembly. Slipper clutch assembly isn't required to be disassembled but good to completely inspect. Ultimately, not an easy video to film. Good job.

    Detailed and helpful. While I know this is a repair/replacement video, I’m just curious if you may know what could cause my Rustler 4WD to stop popping wheelies!?! I’ve adjusted the shipper clutch and still no wheelies. PLMK if you may have any thoughts or insights. Trying to get my grandson’s truck up and running. Thank you for the video and your time. 😎🙏🏼

    Good tutorial thank you. I've honestly never had to replace a spur gear before or pinion haha so this was a first for me. Question about the slipper. Do i have to take the slipper out to adjust it (tighten, loosen)? When i tried to loosen or tighten the little nut on the slipper it just kept spinning the motor. Idk if im dumb or if theres something else i need to do to keep the motor from spinning?
    Thank you for the video.

    • @GReviewz
      @GReviewz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can tighten it with the small nut infrastructure of the spring on the slipper. Don't have to take it out...

  • @supboy666
    @supboy666 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    you just need to pull out the slipper/spur assumbly, you dont need to remove the grub screw for the center shaft it pulls away with the little outdrive still attached. Also you dont need to dissable the slipper just take the 3 screws and replace the spur with a new one. Ive done this around 10 times already

    That plastic bushing that has the bearing then spring go on should be replaced. The plastic wears out and causes a wobble causing the spur gear to wear. There is an aluminum replacement that is better. Your there changing the spur it’s a no brainer to upgrade that part

      Just got the rustler a couple days ago and the stock plastic gear is already shredded to bits. I recommend you buy a hardened steel gear to replace it. Got one on Amazon for about 17 bucks

    • @michaelrowe5896
      @michaelrowe5896 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plastic spur gears are only about 3 bucks at the LHS. Lot cheaper to replace plastic than a steel spur but it depends on how often you shred your spur. $3 will add up, so will $17

  • @HectorGarcia-dn9et
    @HectorGarcia-dn9et ปีที่แล้ว

    Why does my Traxxas Rustler 4x4 vxl keep stripping the gears? First I changed the pinion gear to the optional 17 tooth pinion gear it came with and it stripped the nylon 54T spur gear. So then I switched the spur gear out with a metal one and it sheared the teeth off the pinion gear. Didn’t even put it on the floor just elevated free spinning. I did the paper mesh trick and everything. What am I doing wrong?! So frustrating!

    Does your truck do wheelies on 10/54 gearing? Cause i cant get my rustler 4x4 brushless converted to do wheelies, and i know you have the exact same car as me. So do you know what’s happening?

    • @GReviewz
      @GReviewz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes my rustler 4x4 vxl does wheelies no matter what gear I have. 2 big factors.. what battery are you using? If you want on demand wheelies you need to have a 3s lipo. Also, you need to tighten your slipper clutch all the way tight. If it is even a little bit loose itll never pop wheelies. The clutch will just slip. Let me know if that helps

    • @mitch5800

With the sledgehammers, the balloon so much that you can do standing backflips. It's pretty awesome
