Ok...I couldnt let a fellow Jason that is clearly putting that much "production value" into these videos go on with only 92 subscribers. Glad to be number 93. Keep it up! I'm reliving a couple projects through you... funny stuff. Do you also gauge your projects by how many trips to the hardware store they take?
I think those bendy, flexible pipe fittings are not up to code because debris easily gets trapped in them. If you notice, on the boxes the manufacturers call them flexible "tubes" not flexible "pipes" because they are not allowed to be used as pipes. The bathroom otherwise looks nice though.
@@nathanielhartley4764 technically no but there is the possibility that it will not tighten the way it should and cause a small drip because the gasket never got the chance to tighten all the way down. Just my friendly advice
It looks so easy that I managed to convince my boyfriend to do it ourselves. When we went in we found out that our cabinet had a full back wall/panel, we had to break the cabinet to pieces than we found out that when the Mfg pur how many inches deep, they mean the top counter and not the bottom base, so we ended up having a counter that was 1" away from where the tile starts...Advice for newbies: measure the bottom of the cabinet at the store, don't count on the measurements printed on the the box .
Very helpful AND entertaining! So, I did a google search for 'flexible dealy bob' and no joke that part came right up - which is great because it is exactly what I need for my project.
Ok, so what if you don't want to replace the countertop on top of the vanity, is that an option? Pretty sure my current countertop is liquid nailed to the wall already
My vanity is screwed into the wall and sealed around the back and side and of course the drain stop is attached to the main drain. Never quite as easy as it looks.
How long did it take you? My plumber quoted $400 to install a $125 vanity combo that is EXACTLY the same size/configuration I already have. Can you come help me 🙄
i see the putty on the counter but dont know what you used it on lol.. can you explain what that is for... its in the cup like container with the red top...
That flexible drain fitting you used is illegal in most places. It's biggest problem is that it is extremely weak and the ridges in it will trap all the gunk that goes down the drain causing clogs and leaks.
I been looking all over. Can anyone tell me if the sink has to be exactly where the plumbing comes in? Ex- current sink is 1 ft from the wall. I’d like to make the vanity wider by a foot and move the sink to 1.5” from the wall. Possible?
Sorry, but after watching about 20 seconds of your video, that Beethoven 9th Symphony captured my heart, and I had to temporarily leave to get more. Found a wonderful rendition by Conductor Herbert Von Karajan, at TH-cam: "Beethoven 9th Symphony - Herbert Von Karajan (1080p)." Then, I went back to finish your DIY job. Thanks!
Looks like it's called a Flex 'n Fix tailpiece at lowes. They do clog easier than other options, but they're also easier to take apart and clean. Pluses and minuses both ways.

@@Bluedog5581 Well on his way!
now he has 93,000 subs. nicely done
Awe man when you started talking about cutting pipes and adding in a thingy majigger I was like, “I’m out!”
Yeah I haven’t and won’t claim to be a master plumber. You’re totally right. Doing this correctly isn’t much harder. We all start somewhere.
😂😂
Wasn’t expecting the ending! Lol. Great sudden turn! Thanks for sharing. This was very helpful!
lol! that ending was better than most comedy skits!
Ha! Thanks. 😂

Great video. Quick, precise, and easy to understand. Thanks!
Glad this was the first video I chose for guidance. Lol. I feel like I can totally conquer this sink vanity!
Ditto!
You made this look easy. I’m gonna do this myself. Thank you!
Hi Jason. I am also a Jason and I must thank and congratulate you on such an epic transformation. You are a scholar and a gentleman.
Thank you. You saved me from a lot of aggravation in my small bathroom.
Ending alone earned a sub. Good stuff sir!
Alot easier then I thought and I figured it would be easy, and 2 handsome dudes approved! LOL
Ok, this is my style of video. I saved to help me with my DIY, great video thanks!
I love the ending 😂. Thank you for making this video. Looks like I'm setting up my bathroom vanity now 😀
Solid guide, solid skit at the end.
😂😂😂Great Storyline!!!! Thank you for explaining how to remove and reinstall a sink, I needed to see this video😊.
Very good stuff! The chair toss at the end made me a fan because that is my style!!!!
OMG-that vintage bug in your garage! I’m swooning!
Thanks! There’s a bunch of videos about it. Check out the VW playlist. :-)
Haha this was freakin awesome! Going to tackle this on my bathroom here soon, thanks for the video!
Dude... you are wonderful. This video was both informative AND entertaining! So funny. JP
Appreciate it. It's fun.
Attempting this on my own this weekend! Thanks for the reassurance!
Thank you for this video. You help a lot of people.
You should always fill up the sink and drain test it for leaks.
Yes, did that off camera.
You make me think I can actually do this on my own. The need board installation. Do you have a video for that?
😄😄😄😄😄 I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial hahaha especially the end.
Love these old videos before I bought a wireless mic. 😂
Thanks for making simple!! I’m gonna attempt doing my bathroom.
Hilarious ending!
Love the intro and outro lol.
This whole video 10/10 😂
It’s hilarious this video still get views. Thanks so much for checking it out. :-)
Haha!! That end was hilarious 😂 😃 😄
thank you. if i did not buy back splashes what to do?
I came here for the vanity install, I subscribed for the laughs. Great job, loved the message at the end of your folding table vid.
Thanks Frank.
Great video! Now off to start my bathroom reno
Good luck! Have fun!
The accordion section will be a magnet for hair etc. I am sure you will be changing that soon.
True, true.
Never use those they just collect hair and anything you put in there.
Do not add teflon tape to the angle stops, the compression supply lines already have a rubber gasket
Is there any harm in it?
@@nathanielhartley4764 technically no but there is the possibility that it will not tighten the way it should and cause a small drip because the gasket never got the chance to tighten all the way down. Just my friendly advice

There's a saying: Measure twice, cut once! Always try to dry-fit something when possible.
Thank you. I am on my way to Menards to buy a new faucet for our vanity. I am confident I can do the job and excited to use your video as my guide.🙂
Go Hawks! ... and Ms! ...and, ooh nice bug! Haha
Great informative video and the ending had me ROLLING LOLLL
That was hilarious! And very informative! Thanks for the laugh!😁👍🏽
3 years later this is the exact vanity i'm installing lol!
Omg!!😂😂😂 I absolutely love how real this video is and the ENDING!👏🏼😂
This video was awesome. Great job!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed one of my older videos.
Great video !!! Hahah thanks for step by step
LOVE your VW!
Thanks! I really need to get back to working on and driving it.
Great video 😂👍
Wow! That's pretty easy. Thank you.
You’re welcome. 👍
What type of sealant and adhesive do I use ?
Why didn’t you use stainless putty to install the faucet?
Do most vanity’s come pre built like that? I always had the impression they would be need to be assembled
Yeah, I think it has to do with the size of the vanity. This is definitely one of the easiest ones I’ve installed.
@@JasonExplainsThings do you have the link of this one?
That ending killed it 🤣🤣
It works very well.
Very helpful AND entertaining! So, I did a google search for 'flexible dealy bob' and no joke that part came right up - which is great because it is exactly what I need for my project.
"What about the bathroom upstairs?"
Hilarious, thanks for sharing great tips and very informative video. I found it useful in my own project. thanks
THIS DUDE IS AMAZIIINNNNNNGGGG!!! And how the heck he get Jim Carrey to do his intro... lol
LOL. Thanks man. That old bathroom series was fun.
nice video, nice VW as well.
Very helpful thanks
Right on and GO HAWLKS!
What about having a separate vanity top that needs set
I can't say I like how everything was connected and it still pulled away from the wall clean (,watching without sound, so i maybe missed something?
the ending is hilarious. hahaha!!
Didn’t make any videos about that bathroom. :-)
Do you need to replace the drainage pipes?
No, not if they're unclogged and in good shape.
From a fellow DIY guy, thanks for the helpful video.
I just subscribed!
why use tape when those are compression fittings? it has a gasket on the nut so you dont need tape. other than that it went flawless
It could of been worse. He could of used Teflon tape and pipe dope on the threads for some real overkill.
Great instructions! Thanks.
Is that sink glue to the cabinet already ?
This one was together, yes.
Great video. You are hilarious!! Thank you.
Awesome video! My wife is making me replace the vanity downstairs.
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it. These older videos of mine are pretty goofy.
@@JasonExplainsThings appreciate the effort. Better this than some boring DIY video.
Ok, so what if you don't want to replace the countertop on top of the vanity, is that an option? Pretty sure my current countertop is liquid nailed to the wall already
Maybe? If it's glued on it'll be hard not to damage things. :-) Good luck.
Did you use anything to adhere it to the floor?
Nope. Just secure it to the wall
You didn't use any plumbers putty.
What is the band you wrapped around the knob at 3:00 please?
My vanity is screwed into the wall and sealed around the back and side and of course the drain stop is attached to the main drain. Never quite as easy as it looks.
So do you screw the vanity to the wall?
I just used some wood screws.
lol thank you for sharing 😆
Yea, so there!
You’re nuts!!! 🤣🤣🤣 The ending at me laughing! I understand how you feel. I’m sorry! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video.
How long did it take you? My plumber quoted $400 to install a $125 vanity combo that is EXACTLY the same size/configuration I already have. Can you come help me 🙄
The install of just the vanity? Maybe 2 hours? And I'm no expert.
Thank you so much. You helped me install my own vanity.
i see the putty on the counter but dont know what you used it on lol.. can you explain what that is for... its in the cup like container with the red top...
Made the cutting room floor. I thought the drain needed it but it came with a rubber gasket instead.
Thanks for watching this older video! My new ones are much better. :-)
Very good information nice 👍
Awesome n simple video, thanks for the help
It's funny/awesome TH-cam still recommends this video to people. The older videos are my channel are fun to revisit.
Great ending, too!
That flexible drain fitting you used is illegal in most places. It's biggest problem is that it is extremely weak and the ridges in it will trap all the gunk that goes down the drain causing clogs and leaks.
All true. Only positive I’ll say is the flex drain is very easy to remove and clean when it’s clogged. Silver lining! 😂
Best instructions I have found, I think I know what I need now .Thank you so much !
Thanks!
No thank u for this video, facts n fun ❤ ps good luck upstairs lol
LOL… upstairs remodel was a beast. This video is like 6 years old now.

QUESTION! Im going to install luxury vinyl plank flooring in bathroom, do they go around or under vanity??????
Under. I did that exact same thing for my upstairs bathroom. It's pretty easy to install.
It is not necessary to put teflon tape on those valves, they have a tapered seal with a rubber.
atta boy JASON!!!!

How do you know where on the wall to screw the vanity?
Stud finder.
Love the Monty Python influence 😊
Convenient how you don't have to deal with baseboards or drywall and stud finding.
That's because this is part of a bathroom remodel series where I worked on all that stuff. If you plan ahead things are convenient. :-)
@@JasonExplainsThings also replacements are different from installs and complete remodels.
I was laughing hard in the end. You did a great job my friend. You deserve more subscribers.
What is that accordion pipe called?

I don’t like a vanity with legs where I have to sweep/mop under it
Never heard a toilet being called sumptuous before 😁
Go Hawks!!
Great Job and Thanks so very much 😊🎊🎉💞
