What a moving reading Gregory, a real day of reckoning, wow. Thank you so much, and also for mentioning Tony Kushners' Angels in America, which I also saw. It came out exactly 20 years after my best friend died of AIDS and wouldn't tell any of his friends he was ill. Fortunately we figured it out but yes that time was pivotal and hellish, yet paved the way for recognition of people's true identity to be recognized respected and celebrated. In terms of creating birthdays around key moments of change and how they flavour the journey, I got sober on my Dad's birthday and he's been my guardian angel ever since, so I would definitely agree. This time around I think my life has been unnecessarily tentative and it is time to make a leap forward into the wider world, and it is definitely terrifying. But exhilarating too!
