    FYI: The kids are already on the highest ground in that cave--it is well out of reach of the flooding. We knew this because a British cave mapper and a Thai park ranger have detailed recording of the waterlines throughout that cave. Authorities are not worried about the boys drowning, they're worried about them getting cut off again from resupply+medical support (possibly for a long time) should the water rise again because no one will be able to make the dive to reach them.

    It's very difficult to stay for a long time in the cave. Because of so many obstacles of flood water in the cave, so the rescue operations is very
    complicated by natural obstacles.

    • @eljanrimsa5843
      @eljanrimsa5843 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They do. It helped a lot in the beginning, and it would be the elegant solution, but they probably can't get it all out before the rains start. It's a karst mountain, water can flow in through cracks. They also erect dams to try stop water from flowing in upstream. It's worth a try, but hard to predict if anything they do on the surface will have a real impact.

    If there is a slope from the cave to a river large diameter drain tubes could be used to siphon out the water relatively fast, but only to a 10m lower level, but that could be a great help.

    The CO2 is being absorbed by the water, that is likely why you haven't been hearing about it. I believe they have an Oxygen line in there now as well. Bringing the Boys out via scuba might end up being the only option soon. Maybe it would be better to sedate them a little.
    This is a very complex rescue with so many things to consider. Let's not forget, these Boys are 2.xMiles/4Km inside the cave. It would be very difficult to bring machinery that far in. If the chamber the boys are in is being pressurised, there is the additional risk of decompression sickness and thus the need for Hyperbaric chamber facilities.
    MAKE NO MISTAKE - When this is all over, it was not God saving these boys, it was these fine, brave and committed rescuers. It is moments like these that we see the selfless heights of the Human Spirit. THANK-YOU TO ALL THE RESCUERS!

  • @cliffvillanueva7878

    put blinking lights under water from start and end of the dive in each pocket area or section, so that divers can easily navigate by looking at the blinking water it would be important that the lights are color coded which is which, also attach each boys with lights so that divers under water can always see and locate them. next they have to pass the boys to the next section where another divers are waiting and do the same passing the boys to the next section to another divers. kinda like passing relay

    • @zorkan111
      @zorkan111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep in mind that the water is muddy and murky and in some cases you might not even be able to see the light.

    • @cliffvillanueva7878
      @cliffvillanueva7878 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      zorkan111 the color of the lights will illuminate and glow the water, put a dark coffee in a glass then put a light beneath it and you'll see, in fact do this in a dark room.

    • @zorkan111
      @zorkan111 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. Depends on the density of opaque particles in the water. If the water is very muddy, the light will reach a much lower distance.
      All in all, let's not be keyboard experts. People who are there in the field know best what can and cannot be done.

    Drs Richard Harris and Craig Challen were the Australian medicos who gave all the boys a sedative so they would make the underwater journey safely out from inside the cave . Both Harry and Craig swam each boy out thru the flooded cave to outside using scuba equipment Waiting was a chopper that flew each child to a nearby hospital Great job boys

  • @fireskycam9889
    @fireskycam9889 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi everyone
    This is a complex and difficult situation for all. The boys can't swim or dive. They are far into the cave. The dive is complex even for experienced cave dives. There are only a few divers in the world who could lead this effort on the original search and two of them were the two Brits. They managed to do what they came to do.
    Now they are half way through the delicate operation to get them out.
    Some people may wonder why not just keep doing it faster and get them all out in one go.
    The extraction plan would have been very complex and precise. It is not just the divers but also the logistical supply chain keeping it going. The replacement of all the swap gear along the way. They would be changing cylinders at certain stages. They have to get them ready for the next attempt, so while the divers are taking their break there would be a hive of activity still occurring underground getting everything reset.
    I'm an Aussie diver and in the diving world we have a saying "Plan your dive, and dive your plan". This way you wont get ahead of yourself and everyone knows the schedule and their part perfectly.
    At the time of writing this it is 8 out 5 to go at 0424hrs Zulu 10Jul 2018.
    With the current successes I believe they will get the remainder out without difficulty.
    The reason is "They are diving the plan".

    Sending 🙏 from Michigan we are rooting for these young boys to be reunited with there families. Lord guide the rescue team to help these children make it out alive without any tragedy. My heart goes out to the Hero who risked his life trying to help save these kids.

  • @jastahhh
    @jastahhh 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe the best way to extract the kids out is to make an artificial sturdy
    rubber tube with specific length by section and half meter or so in diameter,
    installable underwater or a single rubber-like tube, whatever suite the environment.
    Inside is a fitted sledge-like vehicle, installed with wheel like a roller skate -- to
    reduce friction and speed up the process of conveying. This sledge-like vehicle can be
    towed from both ends by a strongest rope, and flexible enough to emulate the contour
    of the flexible tube inside. Contour made by the passageway as the surrounding rocks
    demands.
    After installation of this rubber tube, water can be drain to clear the
    passage. But the boys should still have the breathing apparatus in case of emergency
    and a communication device with them. This tube is much more important in the portion
    where the boys have to dive five meters deep just to reach other end.
    This is the only safe and quickest way to rescue.
    Other option is to find a way up beyond the location of the boys following for
    the source of water current and look for a thinner part of the mountain side to bore
    holes and divert the water. That way effectively drain the water quickly, and free the
    boys. They can execute this using the old compass and a helicopter to determine thin
    side of the mountain relative to the position of the waterway. use modern tech.
    Help forward this message to authorities for validation, because I think there
    is only a little time remaining.

    There should be no problem to supply air and exhaust air from the cave. Running tubes with fresh air and sucking air from the chamber is a no brainer. Getting the boys ready to drive is a little tricky but I believe they can do this.

    Put a sealed water slide tube through the water with air locks at each end and LED light strips along the tube. Pump air into the tube to expand it and displace water. Pull each boy through every water blocked exit. Much safer than trying to get them to swim or scuba.

  • @stephenmonash8245

    I think those little warriors are going to surprise everyone. It is easy to say.. but having heard most of the situation.. diving would seem the only viable option. Just take one at a time..a seal either side...use the tactile communication..a tug on the life line, for instance, a tug back for okay.. Give the boys flippers as well.. those currents sap energy. All things considered .. the time is now...as hard as it is to decide...They can do this.

    • @EvgeniyaJZ
      @EvgeniyaJZ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stephen Monash I totally agree. I thought to myself, if (God forbid) I was trapped there, I would be begging divers to take me out by diving. Even considering that I don't know how to dive, only to swim, and not against currents.

    • @EvgeniyaJZ
      @EvgeniyaJZ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And the reason is because I'd be more scared of water rising further and flooding the chamber where they're located than having to dive.

    Thanks for a well delivered snapshot of issues.
    Our hearts must go out to the people making tactical decisions on the ground.
    The Dive out option is a huge gamble. Reports have not included any details of passages with sufficient airspace and lengths fully flooded.
    The full face mask issue is not so difficult and it's no real problem fabricating small sizes for such a critical use.
    As a diver, I would be very concerned about buoyancy and getting diving weights spot on. I think I'm right in saying a cave diver needs to be slightly "heavy" to avoid constantly rising in the passage and tangling hoses with the roof.
    These lads are small and thin. It's likely they will be near neutrally buoyant and require minimal weights.
    The line through the sumps will need to be marked with chemical lights every yard or so.

    IF the oxygen level is 15% now and theyre not sure when they will be evacuated according to governor- how does he expect the situation to be better if oxygen level continues to lower- he needs to get them out before Sunday- if cave floods again from rainfall- all their work means nothing for the kids. As water goes back in from rainfall temperature along with oxygen level becomes more uninhabitable- so how does this governor expect to wait till after Sunday? The 4 month scenario is nonsensical, if the oxygen level is already as of today 15%. The truth must be that the kids and coach are physically too weak and cannot physically and mentally handle the escape, therefore, the governor is calling for a delay- I am starting to think that is the only main reason, because the kids might already be deteriorating, not because they couldn't start the escape now. Either way, there is no way to unflood the cave completely.

    They could take in a bottle of pure oxygen to refresh the air in the cave where the boys are. Similarly, they could take in chemicals that absorb CO2.

    • @kbgbrownbrown2922
      @kbgbrownbrown2922 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Roedy Green Refresh the air in the cave....uh no...its a gas and would require a direct line from a much larger source of oxygen to alter the ppm in the air.

    It's good that the boys are calm, otherwise it'll be impossible with hysterical kids.
    The coach's meditation practise saves the children.
    Otherwise you need to drill the entire route as preparation (especially the narrow 15" chokepoints), lay a 4 mile long oxygen flexible pipe and pull the kids out by flexible capsule.
    Gosh!
    😥

      Mike Buttfild Well, looking at the various illustrations, it does seem there is a main cave which leads me to think it bigger, and it is much closer than the entrance. On top of that, it may be higher therefore, less water and closer to the surface. But, I am just guessing at the layout.

    Full face mask? What are you talking about? Kid's face is too small and the full face mask is a positive pressure system. Once the seal is broken by hitting a ceiling or by moving the head, it'll free flow. Is this guy a diver?

    THE TEAM SHOULD USE FLEXIBLE SUCTION PIPES IN THE NARROW PASSAGES FOR RESCUE OPERATION. THE BIG PIPES SHOULD BE PASSED THROUGH THE NARROW PASSAGES AND EVACUATE THE PIPE BY PUMPS THEN THE KIDS COULD BE PULLED ONE BY ONE FROM ONE END TO ANOTHER BY THE HELP OF ROPES INSIDE THE EMPTY PIPES. EACH AND EVERY NARROW AND DEPTH PASSAGES COULD BE WON BY THIS WAY ONLY. I THINK. just make an animation in this regard and tell the Rescue Team
