Overview
Bowser Jr. considered as one of the "best" players in the strikers league in the character description. To be honest junior is not best character...he's actually far from the best and considered the 2nd worst or worst character in MSC (depending on who you talk to). Honestly I think Peach is the worst to the two...sorry Peach
Junior is a Offensive character great passing and shooting but lacks speed and defense, same as Wario and Hammer Bro. But what makes Jr. worst than them? Well let's find out.
Jr. when being controlled by a human player feels a little sluggish and slow. But not in as an Power and Offensive character slow but actually slower than them. Every time when you face off for the ball or trying to retrieve it Jr. feel like he can't catch up to the opponent even the slow characters. Another thing about him is because he jumps super high for lob shots he can sometimes lack lob rebound shots or can't do them at all. Making more lackluster to free shots.
Deke
His deke makes him jump in the air and fall down at high speeds not only that he can gain a tiny bit of distance when performing it. Jr's deke is one of the fastest out the offensive characters Wario being second and HB having the slowest. This sounds all good and all but there's a catch... Jr. deke also has pretty bad end lag compared to the two, making it hard to pull off it any character is too close or even far.
Captain's Ability
Sonic Roar knocks back the opponent shrinking them. Another thing that can happen is that their stats even drop when shrunk this effect last for 10 seconds of the match before turning back to normal. When Jr. being hit with the ability it can sometimes deflect the hit and still shrink them. This move can also counter almost all of the captain's abilities such as Super Mario/Luigi, Gas Mask, Mud Slinger, Wall-Luigi, etc. This move have a couple of counters it doesn't work on Crystal Smash, Freeze Frame, Red Card etc. Mushroom, Skillshots, Megastrikes, and Captain Abilities after being shrunk can return characters back to normal, just be careful when using this cause sometimes your sidekicks can be caught in the blast
To be honest I think Sonic Roar is Top 5 Best Abilities in the game in my opinion. Easily the better ability compared to Peach's Freeze Frame. Having some counters but not as bad as most other captain abilities like Super Mario/Luigi and you guessed it Freeze Frame. Can be real good on both offense and defense utility. If you're really skilled with Jr. this ability can be a lifesaver to team.
Like Peach, Jr. is pretty rare in the MSC meta...slow, weak hits, deke having too much end lag, and lack of rebound. The only thing I can say what makes him better than Peach is his on par passing, better shooting, and way better ability. There is literally no one either on TH-cam, MSC Discord, or MSC Online that uses him seriously or competitively other than me, myself, and I back in day to counter the poor man Waluigi (aka Daisy). If only Jr. was just alot better...maybe in a Mario Strikers Switch game maybe?
