I’ve changed this mindset about my diet tremendously. I allow myself to eat everything. Because of that… I don’t feel the need to eat everything. Keep it up everyone, you’re doing great!

I am same since a restrictive ED I had 20 years ago. People are amazed what and how much I eat but am in shape. It is fuel! But it’s been mindful that a row of dark chcolate with a Peppermint tea is way more satisfying and not problematic than a full bar mindlessly eaten.

Thank you for pointing out how bread isn't the devil. I've reduced the amount of bread I consume over the last few years, but I still enjoy it a few times per week. I think so many/too many of us have an all or nothing mindset; an extreme in any direction will be harmful or backfire, sooner or later.

I loooooove bread. I do bloat but hey life is short and I’m in shape. It isn’t the devil but is too good to not be naughty 😂

There are different diets out there which are very extreme. I’ve been watching them for a few months especially on social media and it sure seems to turn into a cult. The way they tell you that it can literally kill you. Not here. In fact it’s totally the opposite. I see where she’s going. Eating foods is like a celebration. Every single thing she is talking about is on point.

That's great, you are the only one I watched so far, pointing out sourdough bread as a good food. I started backing my own rye - spelt sourdough bread around one year ago and will never give up bread as one of my daily food. It is made from just 3 ingredients, Water Flour Salt and fermented between 12 and 14 hours overnight, plus 6 hours before put into the oven.

Really video. I have demonized several items listed here. Most some I knew I was wrong about. But I was really surprised about the popcorn. But thinking more deeply about it, it's just corn thats been heated and popped.

Chocolate would be great… However there have been some recent studies showing that heavy-metal continent such as cadmium, lead, and even arsenic can be found inside most if not all dark chocolate brands. Be careful.

Red meat has gotten more expensive it's always been one of the most expensive foods I buy but it's gotten worse since the recession, and grass-fed beef is a major pain in the wallet 😭. But beefheart and beef liver are cheaper
Once in awhile I can pick up some ground beef but I like the lowest fat variety which is more expensive
But is it okay to get regular instead of grass-fed because at this point I think grass-fed is something I don't think I'm going to buy anymore
It's too expensive 😭. Speaking of osteoporosis is 100% unsweetened baking chocolate beneficial to bone health?

This can’t be said enough! I hate when ppl insist that there’s a one-size-fits-all diet for everyone. My brother once asked, shouldn’t you not eat pasta cuz of carbs. I told him, I’m an athlete. Umma burn this off quickly anyways. Never compare an athlete’s body to a “casual gym-goer” or somebody who’s out of shape. The more active you are, the more carbs you need.

These are good, but some people are sensitive. Drs don't test for this anymore. I've been sensitive to wheat, beef, corn, sugar, and strawberries. I stopped eating them for a month, then added small amounts. Found that sugar and wheat are still a problem. Have to figure out what works for your body. After eliminating do many foods, I dropped too much weight and lost muscle. My comeback is in progress!

    • @russelldemczak8510

Well, I'm type 1, and I eat chocolate(85%) daily. And still maintain an A1C of 5 or less.
So, like always, in reasonable quantities, it's perfectly harmless.

    • @redefiningstrengthOC
      @redefiningstrengthOC  ปีที่แล้ว +5

Dark chocolate has a lower sugar content. And not every food is right for every person. But instead of just saying a food is bad, we need to just find what works for us and see the opportunity in the options.

A lot of the foods talked about here do not support stable blood sugar, and are unhealthy for those with insulin resistance. Unfortunately both bread and popcorn will substantially increase blood sugar, making it very tough to lose weight.

I prefer making my own popcorn in a saucepan on the stove (using olive oil). I recently bought my son Wise buttered popcorn at his request, and I nearly fainted when I read the ingredients. Pure garbage.
