I am just getting into begleri, so this combo is a bit beyond my skill set at the moment. I came into begleri with a background in other skill toys, and yet, it surprises me how stiff and lazy my fingers can be. I’m 60 so I’d like to think I have an excuse, but regardless of age or skill level I am looking forward to having more limber fingers as I continue to practice. Oddly enough, even tho’ I am right handed, I started into begleri with my left hand and it has stuck. (I think this happened because I usually have a pen or stylus in my right hand.). So I guess I could say, when it comes to begleri, I’m a leftie newbie… and lovin’ it. Thanks for the tutorials, Nate, I always enjoy your videos. Ⓜ️ary

The grips between thumb and index, index and middle, middle and ring, and ring and pinky are traditionally named "top", "high", "mid", and "low" respectively. Modern convention is to use notation from penspinning where the thumb is represented as T, and the index, middle, ring, and pinky are numbered 1 through 4, in order. For example, "top" -> T1, "high" -> 12, "mid" -> 23, "low" -> 34.
Also, the grip is called "regular" when the bead is on the palm side of the hand and "fakie" when the bead is on the back side of the hand. Often the term "regular" is dropped as it's the default. The direction of the spin can also be referred to and is "forward" or "reverse" based on whether it resembles the spokes of a bike wheel when the wheel is going forward or reverse.
In this case, you'd just refer to this as "low grip" or "34".

Thanks! I realize I got some of the naming wrong in this video. I do know the names and the differences… although I do think I got across the point for the tutorial. I’m not sure if it’s that necessary to get so technical in my opinion.

@@natemartsolf All good. I only commented because you asked in the video. For me personally, the notation is only there to make text descriptions clear, and there's no judgement when people don't remember it.

@@humanatFor sure, and honestly I think it’s overly complicated terminology, especially for new players. I would say there still isn’t a proper name for the hold that I start with, the one I’m calling slingers grip.

Love the combo dude. I think it's low grip. Low, mid, high, top I believe.

I do have a ton of other tutorials that break down all the elements needed to create your own combo. 😊
