Best thing about reate is the laser precision. That’s a conversation piece I’d like to own for sure. Their grinds and machining are always top notch.
The fact that Reate made this makes it so much cooler. Ultra quality will always be there with them. They don’t do novelty just for its own sake and phone in the fit and finish, action, etc.. basically the fundamentals that make a premium knife premium. Very very cool. 😎👍

That thing is so cool! The engineering that went into it is impressive.
When I talked to the designer at Blade he called it the terminator. He said release is approximately December and price point is around $500
Hopefully they release it sooner.

If you remember the movie Arnold explains that the T1000 cannot form complex moving parts.

I admit i am a little slow on the uptake.. I had made a comment (and erased it) but had to share my ignorance.. I wrote" Wow looks like something Arnold brought with him from the future" thinking I was making a great reference, only to realize that that is exactly what the knife is about! Oh well.. I love Reate and would love to own one of these one day!

Love it but in all fairness, it shouldve been named the t800. If it had smoother designs that resembled liquid metal which is what the t1000 was, itd make more sense but the mechanical aesthitc definitely lends itself to the t800 design. Nerd rant over.

I'm generally not into cartoonish, overly dramatic and overly styled knives but I gotta say that Reate T-1000 really speaks to me. While it is somewhat "over done" it appears to be reasonably ergonomic and the blade looks imminently usable.
It has some extra...."stuff" here and there but it's so well done and integrated into the design that it's very aesthetically pleasing. I love it's mechanical nature.
Bet it costs over $700 though!

As a man with big hands I have a really hard time finding a good knife to fit my bear paw hands. This will fit my hands nicely

The geometry of the grinds (if it wasn't for the recurve edge) absolutely remind me of the Chaves Redención. One of my all time favorites. Can't wait for the production version to come out.

I want that so bad. I could never afford one. Looks like they're going for a fixed blade/folder hybrid. Wonder what that will cost. I dont own any reate knives because of the price tags. I'd even be happy with a prototype of one cause its still a usable knife.

The knife is awesome, but in all honesty there is nothing impractical about that secondary lug lock design. I would love to variations of it on other more practical knife designs.

It's a prototype. Nobody can get it currently.
This has the same sort of vibe as my TOPS/BUCK CSAR-T tactical knife. Probably a bit more expensive as well!

This a man's knife
It’s tactical knife. I don’t see it working as an efficient cutting tool. It’s not nimble and looks very heavy. Not the hallmark of a practical cutting tool. As a tactical weapon, that’s a whole different consideration.

I actually really like everything about this knife EXCEPT for the extra locking feature which is really it's whole gimmick.
To me it looks more like the T-800 with the screws looking like the bushings on the arms and legs.
