  • Craig and I spent a long weekend in Brevard, North Carolina. We had so much fun taking our van on its very first trip! We spent the weekend hiking to some amazing waterfalls, mountain biking in Dupont State Forest, and eating some great pizza! We camped at the Black Forest Campground, and loved every second of it!

    Awesome tradition to spend anniversaries in nature, hiking, biking and checking out the waterfalls.

    Nice video, congratulations on your anniversary. I've always felt doing active things with your spouse is a great way to stay connected.

    Thanks for visiting. I hope you guys got to ride Hooker's Creek to Ridgeline. Looks like you went up Jim Branch. If not, check it out next time.

    Our honeymoon was spent camping in many places in the interior of BC, tenting the vast majority of the time. Yes we got rained on, snowed on, and had some days of warm sunshine too. However being in the great outdoors cycling and hiking cannot be beat in our view. So be sure your are not alone loving nature. Do I dare mention we are your dads age, and still do it though I find it hard to get up and down out, of a tent now. We splurged and now use a 3 man tent, lol. Have fun, be safe.... When are you going to start bikepacking? :)

      I love it! I plan to still be doing the same when I am your age!! I’m laughing at your “splurge” because I would also call that a splurge! Haha! I think my husband and I need to get a 3 person tent. And you’re totally right- nothing beats being outside and cycling and camping! :)

      @@aspenswanderings I do not see my 3 grown adults bikepacking with us, but they do ride. You are very fortunate to have been able to ride with your dad so much. :)

      It was great! I’ve only had my mountain bike for 6 months, so still pretty new at it- but that trail was so fun!

    Looks like an awesome adventure. Great shots of Dupont. Been there many times. Looks like you did the Ridgeline Loop. That's hands down the single best mountain bike descent on the East coast :-) If you ever go back, check out the Big Rock Loop. I enjoy following your adventures. Happy anniversary!

      This was just my second time, but first time with my mountain bike. I loved that decent. I felt like I was going SO much faster than what the camera picked up, haha!! We had actually planned on riding the Big Rock Loop, but the weather didn’t cooperate, so that’s at the top of my list next time we go! Thanks so much for watching!!

    yeah, i like your video, but not so much the husband part.anyhow he's a lucky guy to have a chic like you that bikes and camps. ya'll are still young ,and may ya'll have a wonderful marriage and time together, So many couples break up and divorce. gotta say once again love your southern voice. i am from the south, but it must be a Kentucky thing . ha ha!! ya'll take care and be safe out there.!!

      I used to perform with a Drum Corps that was based out of Georgia, and most of the members were from the south and they ALL pointed out my voice. I guess it is a KY thing! Ha!!! Thanks for always watching my videos!!

      yeah i am from GA. and even though the girls have a southern voice, its not like yours!! I don't know how to explain it. it's nice. Anyhow, i don't live far from brevard nc. i go to nc all the time. just not brevard.But i am going. i think i want to ride big rock and cedar rock trail. I ride flow stuff as well. what was your favorite trail there?

    Wow, 8 hours of emissions for two people for a bike ride! And I thought young Americans might have a little more concern for the world around them... 😞

    • @aspenswanderings
      @aspenswanderings  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah- a LOT less emissions than your recent train trip to Switzerland, so I find your comment quite comical. At least I walked and rode my bike when I got to my location, instead of riding a train. Also, we were there for 5 days….not for just “a bike ride”. You can see yourself out now.
