Why can't Madi fly if she is taller? Maddie Gardner was taller than even her backspot and her body positions were BEAUTIFUL. Please let Madi fly next year.
The start of this video makes it seem like Madi and Jenee are not even friends anymore, yet when Madi was asked on her Curiouscat in early Feb. 2017 if they were still friends, Madi said that Jenee is still one of her best friends.
Maybe they reconnected after a few years you know..

Emma Boyd I get what you're saying BUT their athletes are basically like their kids lol they probably spend some time together outside of the gym as well as inside...plus she's been going there for so long her parents have probably developed a good relationship with Eddie and orby to where they trust them to do thing like give her rides and maybe even supervise something like taking her to get her hair done..I know my mom was pretty close with my coaches and dance teachers they become like family went to family dinners and birthdays the whole 9..thats probably the case like michaeleddie and some of the past members for example they see them as their children they've been there pretty much their whole lives its easy to get attached like a whole other family
Emma Boyd well considering she's been there for years and years spending what hours and hours EVERY DAY the team usually develops bonds the one constant in the team are the coaches so they have a lot of time to develop a bond
I miss Michaeleddie and Robert, in fact I miss the whole season 1 team...it sucks they all aged out

I'm gonna be honest. not everyone is like gabi who can pull a needle very easily. She's trying, I've seen improvement, so Eddie, don't think everyone's gonna be like Gabi. Maddi you're doing great!
Eddie didn't say he wanted the flyers to have perfect needles like Gabi. Btw Gabi Butler is my cousin & she made herself double-jointed so that she can be as flexible as she is.
Lauren you can't make yourself double jointed. People are born that way
yes you can and Gabi did. she wasn't born double jointed so she spend about 5 weeks everyday after school popping her hips until she became able to pull and bow-and-arrow straight into a needle and that's why she's that flexible.
Lauren Gebbia being "double jointed" isn't an actual thing. You can't have twice as many joints as another person, so you can't be born with it. She's just really flexible, stretching a lot will get you to be like that.
alyssa santos go watch Cheerleaders Extras Gabi's Secret if you don't believe me. but my sister was born double-jointed and I was not, my mom is a doctor and said you can be born double jointed.
i feel for payton because I was put with a poor stunt group last year and my confidence was so low and i was dropping so much and this year i was put with a better group and people have complimented my flying and confidence so much. And ive always had the ability to do the things I did this year but its hard with constantly switching your bases. You can do it Pey, you're amazing!
Same thing happened to me. I had a base who would never get the grips right and would do lots of other wrong things. She didn't know that she was doing those things so the whole group and the coaches would always yell at me. I had no confidence and was really upset with myself. The coaches got so fed up with me so they replaced me but no flyers could do it so they put me back in. They finally listened me to what I have to say about my base and switched her out. After that I never had another problem with my stunt!

The same super-flexible trend is going on in the dance world!
There are soo many extremely flexible dancers out there and everyone is always trying to get better oversplits and backbends...
Some years ago you could impress the judges at a comp with a 180° split jump... Nowadays 180° is the minimum and everybody is doing needles (scorpion with both legs straight) instead of normal scorpions..
It's really hard to become and stay that flexible, especially if you're already a teen or adult... I need to stretch 6 times a week to be able to do that crazy contortionist-like flexibility stuff and be able to keep up with all the other dancers!

Can we talk about the fact that Eddie and orby said all of these nice things about madi and then bashed her at the end for not having a spike when at least she wasn't crying like Payton...I get they are a world champion coaches but she didn't look like she was giving much attitude from what we saw on this....none of the other flyers have spikes anyway and madi looks beautiful in the air regardless. She stands tall and beautiful...

PEYTON STRETCH HONEY. YOU NEED TO STRETCH, ugh, her flexibility is atrocious. She can barely lift her legs up when she's in the air. Honestly I wouldn't even make her a flier if I were Eddie or orby because of how bad her flexibility is.

You have no idea how hard it is for people who aren't born naturally flexible, no matter how much she stretches (and trust me she probably does) she can't get to Gabi's flexibility. Gabi strecthed but she was naturally flexible, stop judging Payton and stop comparing her to Gabi - you can tell Payton works really hard. This was a really rude comment... Just SO rude.

I feel the bases, it's so hard to hold up your flyer when they don;t hold up their wight. SO HARD. I've been both a flyer and base and it's nerve-racking when flying but the more confident you are the easier it is to hit the stunt which gives the group even more confidence. And that's why when the flyer knows how to hold their weight it doesn't matter how big or tall they are, they could be double the size of someone who doesn't know how to and be so much better
Madi is the best flyer Smoed has even without a spike. They better keep her a flyer instead of trying to bring in new flyers. If it's an issue that she's too tall for the bases, maybe the bases should be stronger. A lot of teams have really tall, and bigger flyers. Why try to replace what isn't broken?
The brown looks SOOOO much better. The dark eyebrows and blonde hair didn't always work. LOVE that she is back to her natural color

Why is everyone complaining? This is RAW. LEGIT! This is what happens in Cheerleading. It's not an easy sport, if it was everyone would be doing it! The attitude, the struggle, the changes, etc. it comes with the sport. This isn't high school cheerleading this is a cheer competing team. Aside from that, my theory is that they notice the camera isn't on and they think they can behave or say what they want, but leave it to Eddie he will call you out in front of camera. LOL. So don't mess with the coach. Remember that they yell out SMAMILY for a reason because they are just that a FAMILY. I know when I was in gymnastics my parents were always busy with work, siblings, and errands that my coaches were like a second pair of parents when my parents couldn't be there. Remember we don't know everything, and I'm ok with that. Just show me the sport, coaching skills, and journey to another world title and I'm watching. =]

Madi not a base for smoed. She tops for smoed and is double teaming and joined the other coed team snipers. On snipers she bases , so she can learn to bases because she might have to base next year on smoed. But this year she a top for smoed and a base for snipers

I really wish they didn't make Madi a base, they could've let her finish at least this season as a flyer. She is soooo clean and you can always depend on her to hit her stunts and she always puts on a show in the air, she's fun to watch. She deserved to fly in centre. Orby said it himself, she's not even getting heavy, just a little taller so it was totally stupid to make her a base. She doesn't even look that much taller than the others when they're in the air.

madi definitely was not taken from being a flyer because of her attitude. she's so sweet [ from what we see and im sure she's sweet all the time ] but she's very tall and I'm sure it's hard to be a flyer and be tall? but I definitely don't think it's because of her attitude.
yes that was the reason you are correct...your body changes and sometimes you have to do whats best... which is why they had madi double team with snipers to practice her basing because they knew she was going to keeep growin! shes almost as tall as riley lol! so it wasn't her attitude it was just that she grew out of it and I guess she is no longer flying since she based for the first competition! so sad but atleast shes still with smoed no matter what
