  • Get an inside look at the Buffalo Sabres' draft process for the 2022 NHL Draft. General Manager Kevyn Adams was mic’d up on the draft floor as he navigated trade offers while making three first round picks. Draft picks Matt Savoie, Noah Ostlund, and Jiri Kulich were all mic’d up for their first moments as Buffalo Sabres.

    Matt Savoie making a point to greet Noah Ostlund and wish his new teammate well...got me right in the feels. This team is shaping up to be something incredibly special, you can just feel it. Thank you Kevyn and the entire mgmt team, we believe in you.

    Wow! They were torn between Ostlund and Kulich at 16. They tried to trade up 6 times to get Kulich and he still fell to 28.

    I think we absolutely nailed the draft, the fact Forton cried talking about Adams, this team and the management is absolutely special, something we haven't had in years. They care, they're ready to do what it takes to get this team back to the top. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the Sabres! 💙💛

    I'm honestly hyped about Kulich the most out of the 3 of them.
    It was awesome to see how Kevin acted with his team at the table that opening night. Puts Jerry breaking down into better perspective. I don't have any idea how that night went in the past... but you can just sense a real culture change, finally, with the Sabres. Not going to get ahead of myself and start comparing this to the Bills turnaround, culture wise, yet, obviously, but we have the potential to start tuning this thing around this season. And I really feel like a lot of that starts with with Kevin Adams. Embedded is the best content, as always! LETS GO BUFFALO!

    The moment that Forton said that about Adams was the moment I knew Murray and Botterill were terrible and never listened to their scouts hence why the rebuilds kept failing

    Even as a bruins fan I’ve been a huge Kevyn Adams believer since he took over. He’s doing everything perfectly and you can tell he’s legitimately turned the culture a complete 180. I’d bet anything on him winning GM of the year some day.

    To me, it looks like Adams is saying to the three goalie prospects (four if you include 41st-overall pick Leinonen!) you've each got two years to develop at your own pace, and the best two will get the roster positions to start in 2024-25. Now those prospects know that if they fail, there is no one to blame but themselves. Adams is looking after the forward and defense positions through the draft and trades, so all the other young prospects know what is expected of them. With some luck to go with his careful planning, Adams seems to be making all the right decisions to make Buffalo's future look extremely bright! Hope springs eternal!!

    I think all 3 (Savoie, Ostlund, Kulich) have a great chance of being a big part of the core in Buffalo. I love how Tage Thompson played but it was his best year by a wide margin, Middlestadt looks like a 3rd liner at this stage, Okposo is probably not going to be retained next season. There will be opportunities for sure for these guys and it's exciting, not only the prospect pool but for a team who hasn't had an identity in quite some time under Eichel as captain, it's a breath of fresh air.

  • @evannovitzke
    @evannovitzke ปีที่แล้ว

    Great picks, I think all were solid, Kulich looks like a steal at 28 played great at the wjc. His skill paired with how he plays with confidence with and without the puck is special. I think his u18 performance and wjc u20 performance is more telling of the player he will be than his mens team stats. I think he will be a better than average winger/center in the NHL. Ostlund plays with energy and pace seems like every shift and I see potential for a second line center/winger but at lowest a fast/creative 3rd liner. Savoie should be definitely Second line guy to me and potentially more. Fast, Creative, Smart, good hockey sense, passing & shooting is there. Just an all around good player. Exactly what you want. Excited for Buffalo. Not sure who their top end 1st liners are except Tage Thompson but seem like they really got a good mix of players coming up in their organization.

      Yeah they cut off Adams so as not to give away any possible mentions of trades or anything that would potentially alienate a current roster player. The guy that started talking at that moment was, I believe, Eddie Olczyk from a TV commentary.
