Patricia has departed this world after a courageous battle against breast cancer. (18 June 1998 - 1 October 2023) She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and fans throughout the world.

You older folks, cast yourselves back to the age of 25 - remember the youthful vitality, the hopes and dreams of future possibilities,and we only just begin to understand what this gifted and beautiful woman, who spent her last year in the grip of a cruel disease, was denied. 'So much of life ahead' as the song goes. Thank you, darling Patka, for the gifts you left us during youe tragically short life. RIP princess. We will never forget you. .

Im so sad, I searched for the song "voice of spring"sang by her from U tube for about one hour, I couldnt find it, because I watch that in U tube few years ago. Tonight I want to hear that song, search and search couldnt find it. then I go into coment, only knowing that she has passed away long ago. Im so shock and very sad , I love her voice very much ,beautiful voice, as well as her.

like many of her admirers i got to know of her when she appeared on cnn news winning 'talentmania' in 2010, singing 'once upon a time in the west,' aged 12!
this led me to follow her career for the years to follow.
one standout video for me was when she sang 'ave maria' & dedicated it to the people who were killed in a paris music venue 7 or 8 years ago!
many people will associate her with 'the doll song' & 'meine lippen', of which there are several outstanding versions on you tube!
it was always nice to hear her singing in english, something which would have benefitted her if she had taken to the theatre or films!
i believe she would have been brilliant at playing the role of the princess in 'roman holiday', which was originally played by another beautiful human being, audrey hepburn!!

how crazy is that? so young... wow, so young, huge loss and its wild to think of where she would have gone.
I already have her autograph. That's how lucky I am!
Waited for her for one hour behind the theatre where she played a small role in a musical. After that time, I asked a woman who just came from the back door, if Patricia is still there. She looked at me in very suspicious way, turned on her heel and went back. After 10 seconds, she appeared again and Patricia followed her. She looked at me with her huge dark eyes and even tho she frowned at me a bit, I forgot what my goddamn name was. I asked her (took three attempts to pronounce that audibly) for the autograph. All the mistrust immediately disappeared from her face and a heavenly, sincere smile took its place. Like when the heavy dark clouds dissolve and the sun gets to shine again. She signed the program of the theatre play for me with a pen, which I haggled from a cashier in a nearby supermarket, as I of course forgot about that small detail when travelling 150 kms to see her live and get her autograph. I mumbled something like "Thank you, good luck!" and only started breathing again when I sat into the train back to Prague.
So, if you ever get a chance to stand right in front of her, prepare to be staggered...

Thanks to the miracle of modern recording, Miss Janečková will be with us for centuries. We may hope that the miracles of modern medicine will return her to us in vivo and that she will sing for many decades.

I've never listened to opera much, but I know a superstar when I hear her. What a catastrophic loss...
this is one song that pj will be remembered by, along with 'once upon a time in the west'! this 2016 new year concert should be issued on video & cd & marketed in the uk & america!! also some enterprising souls should write her story & televise a documentary on her life!! also a stage show & film shoiuld be shown

Her precise articulation, the depth that is not ruined by dragging tambre, the sense of dynamics . . . this particular gracefulness reminds me a little of Martha Eggerth, for whom Lehar wrote some of his operetta music. Her dramatic timing and audience engagement is intelligent and prodigious.

She's not only a singer but a very charismatic performer, and a charmer, in total control of the audience. This is almost like watching a pop singer, only it is a beautiful opera concert. In a few years Patricia Janecova will be considered one of the divas. Also, she attracts younger audiences to the opera, you can tell by the comments and the youtube stats. She's talented AND good for business.

have always respected Opera and classical music as the superior genres of music, but Opera in particular was never to my liking until I discovered Patricia, there is a certain special warmth in her voice that makes her accessible to the populorum, for the common of the mortals, I think she, is the best contribution that this very elitist genre has received ... in the last 50 years!

This recording is just perfect in every way. Not only does PJ shine, but the accompanying musicians and their conductor are impeccable at their contributions. Oh, and one of the violinists has a smile on her face the whole time. What more can we possibly ask for?
