    Love the POE option, Im already wiring my POE cameras up and it will be easy enough to drop a cat6 cable to where the previous owners had the panel installed, and I can get rid of the old power cable that was ran up, over the door frame, and through the wall to an outlet.

    Hey! Great video! I want 24 zones in my new house (no alarm, just pre-wired). Should i purchase 2 Pro Interface Kits or 1 Pro Interface Kit and 1 Alarm Panel Pro (board only)?
    Also, another question is, where do you use the modules of the Pro Interface Kit in this installation. There is no mention for modules in this video but in the site it says that it is necessary for installing the first alarm of a new house.
    Thank you very much! Konnected definetely covers a big gap in the wired alarm systems for smart hime! Great great job!

    In the future when making a video like this it be really helpful to have a diagram of the board up and showing where the wires go. Some of the shots are blurry and not very clear, like connecting the alarm panel power and buzzer. Also one huge thing that tripped me up when installing this was my pre-wire did not have any sensors on the windows or doors. Everything was showing open in Home Assistant but when I would go to open a window nothing change. Luckily connected support is really good about responding quickly. I bought some sensors on Amazon and now it seems to be working. Only do this if you’re a techie and have time. Also shout out to the start up engine campaign I am vested

      I would also love if your shop could carry a case that could hold the board and could install in my smart panel well. Also the sensors make a lot of sense to also carry in your store.

    great video, thank you fr sharing i have a siren connected to a 9v battery, open all the windows and doors, i connect the siren to a pair of wires go throught the eme closing every door and window till i hear the alarm sound. that is how i identify which wire is which when i am working alone. if its a bigger home i group wire together than when i find the group of wires that my door or window is in i do one by one. the other 4 conductor wire may be for a second keypad in master bedroom.

    At 23:05 you mention that the power from the keypad cables is enough to power one tablet, but not two. And that one would need a separate power supply, such as a plug-in power supply with a DC terminal adapter. Do you mean just plug the tablet to a wall electrical socket, like I do now to charge it? Or did you mean do something in the Konnected panel?

    Any plans to add ability to integrate wireless devices such as door, window, motion sensors? I'd love to use your product but out of my 8 zones, 5 are wireless. I really don't want to run more wires.

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, because there are already so many inexpensive wireless sensors on the market that work with home automation hubs like SmartThings via Z-Wave or Zigbee technology. Just replace those older wireless sensors with new ones that are compatible with your smart home platform.

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Konnected doesn't make the software for the tablet, it would be provided by whatever platform you choose to power your smart home with. Home Assistant has a nice virtual keypad that works to arm/disarm with a PIN code.

    I have a house with about 60 zones. how can I setup multiple boards with home assistant? do I connect them as separate Konnected instances?
    Also what do I do If i wanna be a regional installer? Thanks

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each board communicates independently to Home Assistant, and HA acts as the controller of the system brining all the door, window, motion sensor, etc entities into one cohesive system. There are not really Konnected "instances" in Home Assistant -- each zone becomes an entity in Home Assistant that you can use for security, automation, whatever.

    How long can a series zone be because I have 33 long runs zones in my new construction home with all home runs in the basement because I’m having trouble on longer runs. Can I install a transformer and how on my pro panel

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no defined maximum length, but it should work fine even with very long wires. Too many variables including the material of wire, wire gauge, temperature, etc. Measure the resistance on the long wire run -- it should be in the single-digit or low double-digit Ohms.

      @@tomangerami1506 No, you can't just put an extra transformer in. It doesn't work that way.

    • @rj.parker
      @rj.parker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomangerami1506 You can power your own series connected loops with a 24v transformer operating a relay. Then use the relay contacts to any alarm system. Caution: Running 33 loops in series can be a problem when one fails or worse yet goes off intermittently. At that point you will wish you had wired each loop individually so the failing zoned is called out.

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't necessarily need SmartThings, but you do need to choose at least one smart home platform to use Konnected. SmartThings is our most popular because it's easy and free. Konnected links your sensors and sirens to a smart home platform, where you can then make home monitoring part of your suite of smart home products.

    You need a hardwired alarm panel. The alarm needs to be able to work when internet is down.

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a hardwired panel. It can work without internet using a local smart home platform like Home Assistant or Hubitat. Choice is yours.

    @bellagio88 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you turn on/off the alarm if the internet is offline?

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends if you're using a local or cloud platform for your home alarm. If it's a local platform (like Home Assistant, Hubitat, Homebridge) then you don't need internet as long as you're on the local network/WiFi. If it's a cloud platform, and your home internet is down, just turn off your WiFi to access the app via your phone's LTE/data connection.

      @@Konnected-io What if your power was out and now your running on batteries, no UPS on wifi modem/router and you don't have LTE option. I wish there was a way to avoid their cloud. Now they has access to every time you open and window and more importantly when you leave your house. They may even have access to your pass codes or be able to disarm remotely. This model lowers the overall security of the system. This is why I’m not interested in Ring and the other cloud offerings. Is there a model that allows us to keep everything local?

    • @Konnected-io
      @Konnected-io  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you have many options to keep everything local with all of Konnected's products. Our cloud service is completely optional and only needed if you want to use it with SmartThings.
      Choose Home Assistant, Hubitat, Homebridge or OpenHaB and the integration is completely local and never touches our servers. Check our website for details of all platform choices.
