Levy of Duty is more harmful than Levy of GST or sales tax. Duty cannot be claimed as input tax by the business it is a direct cost for the business. It is the simplest rule of economics and that gentle even admiring govt for this harmful anti-business action.
If a gdp annual growth of a country like Pakistan in fiscal year 2021-2022.. Let's say it's 5% and inflation(Retail) is in double digits as the gentlemen said let's say it's 12%.....So you can very well assume the Growth of Pakistan it's -7%......
GDP growth takes inflation into account the 5% figure is after removing the effect of inflation. Real GDP is calculated with fixed prices I think currently Pakistan uses 2015 prices to calculate GDP

Pakistan’s economy went down from 90s, for 2 reasons. One, frequent change in govt (ruling govt being overthrown), and being part of afghan war (lured by US). If India had a border sharing with Afghanistan, you would’ve too been part of the afghan war. Maybe right now you’re in a position to say no to US, but back in 90s you wouldn’t have been able to say no to them. So it’s unfortunate that they were dragged in it. Look, this time they categorically said no to US, even though they’re not in a position to do so. And US doesn’t care a bit about them now. So they’re trying to get closer to Russia and China of course. And I genuinely want to tell this to you. Please stop being so arrogant and underestimate Pakistan. Countries and civilizations have risen and fallen. The same applies to you and to Pakistan. Idk why you Indians think Pakistan will never rise (all because they’ve animosity towards you).
