"Bleib alien", Bleib being an anagram of Bible and/or German for "stay," and "Alien" being a pun on the German word allein ("alone") - the phrase in German therefore being "remain alone."
Still have my 45 of this that I bought years ago. The shop had a copy of Roky's book, "Openers", there too. I had to choose the 45 or the book, as I didn't have enough money on me for both ( I was a semi-starving college student at the time). By the time I did have the money, the book had already been sold...ah, well. Thanks Bolt, and thank you again Roky. Peace :)
Bought this single at Waterloo Records in Austin in 1975 The ‘A’ side is Red Temple Prayer (Two Headed Dog) Thank you Doug Sahm for taking Roky into the studio so soon after he got out of Rusk State Hospital
When I was a kid growing up in South Central Austin. I had a transistor radio that I tied to the handlebars of my bicycle as I was riding through Stacy Park and listening to k n o w radio on the am. Those are great times in the river city.
Part of my bucket list was to see Rocky do this tune live. Got to share the moment with my son at a small club in Nashville. It was magical as I my mind's eye is filled with visions of my beautiful granddaughter every time I hear it.
This is really fantastic because it sounds a bit ahead of its time. It sounds with a bit of a 70's vibe to it. This is what music sounded like when I started High School, as Sophomore in late August of 1972. Whether the music is from the 60's or 70's I listen to it just the same. To me those were very wonderful times, and this song is Far-Out!!!

1975 and the garage rock sound is all but gone . Not hard rock, not psychedelic but a nice pop sound straight from the mid 70"s

Psychedelic sounds foverer

This is what Buddy Holly would have sounded like in the 70's
Roky loved Buddy Holly. He would be pleased with that statement
He died too early, he still had more in him
Sounds a bit like R.E.M. to me.
or REM sounds like Roky! :P th-cam.com/video/ppTwOEayfGA/w-d-xo.html
