I lived in Hamilton a long time ago. Worked at Westinghouse on Aberdeen Street, worked at national steel car, worked at dofasco and stelco. I like stelco best. I heard that Hamilton got rid of the trolleybuses. That was one of my favorite things about Hamilton. I'd like to go back and see the place, especially the places where I lived. I do miss it though.

Christopher Strachan I used to walk through that area before it was even there. I remember going to the old Robinson's store at King and James, beside the CIBC building, where the empty parking lot is now. I shook Terry Fox's hand on the York Blvd. bridge when he was running through Hamilton in 1980 -- what an honor !!!

Hamilton has gone to shit. Poverty, higher property tax rates and playing cat n' mouse with druggies for decades doesn't really help, not to mention industry literally leaving like they practically have every other city. Nothing was hit harder than downtown. Some things have come a long way since the dark periods of the mid 90's, but it'll never be close to this again.

Listen, I'm 18 years old and I've known about the many issues Hamilton faces for A LONG TIME. I'm very educated for my age because I've chosen to follow the work of a lot of people who are trying to help Hamilton. I don't waste my time saying "Hamilton has gone to shit", because it makes people think that it's a lost cause. I spend my time trying to improve my town rather than complaining about it. You are what they call a "bystander." Just continue waiting for other people to help your neighbours, and in the process of it, keep complaining! It's REALLY helpful!
