For me the Costain series lit a fire of enthusiasm for all things Plantagenet when I was about 13. Fortunately that never left me. Now I’m pretty fired up for the original source books that you mention here.

Just finished a historical drama based on the tail end of the Plantagenet era, so I am hunting down the other three books in that series.

I am absolutely disappointed by how few of these books are available through my library. I will have to buy these. Count my vote for Tudor-Schmudor 2. I would like to hear your recommendations for historical fiction before the Tudors as well. And I love the new setting. Looks great.

Love this starter kit!!! I love reading on the Tudors, but I am interested in reading in the periods leading up to the Plantagenet's. I have been wanting to read Edward III by ormand for a while now. I have access to a better library now so I should be able to start on this list asap!!! lol

When I went to college i did my dissertation on the Danish conquest of England in 1016. Little did I know I would end up moving to Denmark from Ireland 10 years later. 😀 . Anyways, looking forward to your future updates 👍
Nope don't need the pictures! I listen while I cook :) I loved the Mists of Avalon (even though I have since found out the author is in disrepute now) and of course the Plantagenet books by Sharon Penman I guess I should read the real stuff too :P
