I'll do a lot more preparing, sending scouts everywhere, knowing your battlefield is a huge advantage, also I always have a small back up squad to flank if needed, as a insurance. also, soldiers are the most powerful units in the game if used right, I always ditch the transporters at beginning and use my units, they are worthless in a transporter, use all resources!
Great video. Always baffled me that this game shows you the briefing video AFTER it lets you choose a load out. Surely it makes sense to see the briefing video before you decide what perks to use. I even mentioned this to the developers years ago but they didn't seem interested in changing the order. Bizarre!
Just returned to this game as I find myself in a WW2 strategy game mood...thanks to your video has got me back into to the RTS flavour as I'm currently well into the turn based Order of Battle World War 2 game. One thing I've been surprised about with SS4, how much content is packed into each mission coupled with the not so insignificant size of each map. They appear to be on the smaller side, but with the slower pace you need to play the game, it makes the maps feel larger than they look! I definitely appreciate the way you can play this RTS like a pseudo real time game

I've notice in this game the pause and command option works really well, second mission of German campaign I got wrecked I wasn't ready for all those tanks coming at me, the next Try I 3 starred it 😂 bc of the pause option

I like the fact their is no resource management & the lone scout idea is genius,I use it all the time,so useful, especially as I prefer to take my time. Took me just over 1hr 35m just to do first level but I had no casualties & completed all objectives. All thanks to you,so on the back of that I subbed to your channel & intend to watch more of your SS4 vids. Thanks again 👍😀
Same I send a lone scout crawling around inch by inch just able to see an enemy then I send more out around to see more then I rain down artillery if I have any or send in a tank n do ground attack works like a charm on the German campaign for the stalingrad mission n others the tank missions on the German side are hard but I just brute force it then lol
Picked it up a few days ago. The complete collection for £11. Really enjoying it, but I got absolutely obliterated on the battle of the bulge as the Germans
For anyone playing it on Xbox recently. It helps on harder missions (e.g Battle of the Bulge); save at key moments, Try a strategy, reload and use that knowledge in your next attempt.
frustrates not being able to select a unit, for example an officer, the only solution is to pause and wait minutes for you to find the unit you want, is the bad thing on ps4. on pc I've seen that if they do. In gral the game is entertaining, but it has that detail that disappoints the game.
lol, ps4 here. I spent a lot of time looking how to select a unit in the group, then......****me, there's no way to do that, just like you said, pause this game, and check the soldiers one by one, until you find the soldier you want. that's really SUX😭😭😭😭
It is easy to engage and almost impossible to disengage so keep reserves ready to flank. Also be prepared to encounter the worst selection system you ever used on a strategy game, ever. Still better than most RTS Games I've played on console
@@shaun_177 pc billshit I prefer dawn of man on console and I wish age of mythology and age of empires were on console oh btw command and conquer Kane’s wrath and 3 played better on Console than pc as well
Honest to God, I am more of an artillery person. I let the artillery just do everything for me then send out one infantry to do the scouting to make sure I’m hitting my targets. My medium tanks are used as protections for artillery so that we don’t get overran every time.

I agree that it should be easier to select individual soldiers - especially medics.

Works great on PC. Rts games were not made for console. MKB is the way .
If you think that then try out Ancestors Legacy and TC's EndWar , amazing RTS games.

Ip,ayed this game for long ling before discovering you could pause it and make moves. One thing I hated was having to worry about fuel.
I know this is a old but I just got it how supply your supply truck that are showing open boxes
You have to find a supply depot somewhere on the level sometimes the level doesn't have any
