Great tutorials Tim, thank you very much! For problem #3, I got around the "over defined" issue by running just the two 10mm circles through the Circular Sketch Pattern operation, and *then* trimming out the slots. So what I did was to draw the two concentric circles at 60mm and 80mm, so that they were tangent to the two 10mm holes on the 70mm construction circle. Then I did the radial copy to create two more sets of those two holes. Then I trimmed all the extra lines, and when I was done I still had two over defined flags...but both were on the first slot (per your video). I simply deleted each flag, and then all three slots were fully defined. Life is good.

Handy how you taught us to start with two center lines at 0,0,0. I start with two infinite lines in autocad but it doesn't seem to need to be at 0,0,0. I think because you can move your world to that center point in autocad by dragging it and using points to locate the dimensions. I've been struggling with this a little but now it makes more sense, you start at zero where we were taught, way back from version R12, location doesn't matter. Solidworks looks to be a very handy program. If I could get them to let me have a student version without actually being a student I'd be able to teach myself in short order. In the mean time, thank you.

The reason it's adding the radius dimensions, is because you have the "Dimension radius" feature box checked, like at 46:32 in the video. You did this earlier in the video, to demonstrate something...for a reason I don't understand. I think you were just checking boxes, lol. Anyway, that feature isn't checked by default, for good reason--as it seems to result in over-defined sketches much of the time.

Being new to this I appreciate the warnings but would like to know the reasoning behind them as well. If Tim or anyone else can add any insight that would be great.
