An easy fix for inventory issues, due to giving stuff away, is to have a bin for samples/ freebies. Anytime you order/make new product--take out 5 of each thing (for example), add those to your freebie bin and thEN count your inventory. That way those freebies aren't considered a part of your inventory in the first place and you don't ever need to worry about it fudging up your numbers by taking things out of the system. I used to do this when I worked for my illustrator pal. This trick paired with using a paper spreadsheet is great because then you only need to keep track of what you counted and add those numbers to your existing inventory rather than recounting a billion things every time.

i miss ceramics class! i tried throwing on the wheel for weeks and weeks. finally my teacher just said "some people just can't throw" and gave me a different assignment ;o; lmao. I used to be so good at constructive ceramics though!! i just bought some air-dry clay after being inspired by your vlogs. congrats on your new baby kitties!! can't wait to meet them.

i leave a sheet of paper with the item that has the count. whenever i remove one to package i change the number or use tick marks to count how many ive taken out. im not sure this works well scaled up for mass packing because that would slow down the packing process. i think i would just do a recount after mass packing.

I think I'm the same with traditional vs digital. In a traditional painting I don't want to do more than 2-3 layers on a traditional painting. But I'll spend hella time on a digital illustration. 🤷♀️
