    I had no idea. This is stunning. I’ve been following our Disney British Clairy from my (American) home and coincidentally I have been collecting my documents for my Irish citizenship, my grandfather having been born there. Smart move Clairy, I’ve dragged my feet but appreciate the instructions! Seems Clairy’s family is a little more adventurous than most.

    Our daughter has lived just outside Dublin for 15 years married and had two of our four grandchildren there. She is looking into getting an Irish passport but it’s not a cheap process applying there.
    Tayto cheese & onion crisps are the best. Your mum puts on a a great spread.
    I enjoyed two pints of Guinness at Raglan Road’s Hole in the Wall when we arrived in Orlando a week ago. Not quite celebrating St Patrick’s Day. Lol
    Is the passport application for easier travel around Europe as in our daughter’s case?

      If you were 50% Irish it would mean one of your biological parents was an Irish citizen when you were born. So you would qualify. If your first grandparent was Irish you'd be less than a quarter Irish and STILL qualify through foreign births registry. After that, you do not qualify and you only have Irish heritage/DNA, certainly not "half Irish".

    What a neat thing that you can do in the UK. It was so interesting in learning about this process. So did your dad’s mom eventually move to England and your dad was born in England? Can your brother do this for himself and his kids as well?
    We have a store here that is called the British Emporium where we get British foods. They have foods from all over the UK but after seeing some of the foods in the Irish store you went to I see we have Irish options as well at our store.

    Hello Claire, I have just received my foreign birth certificate and am beginning the process of applying for my first Irish passport. When it says "Applicant's passport from country of origin/previous nationality" as one of the required documents can I send them one of my older expired US passports or does it have to be one in date? • @aclaireytale
      @aclaireytale  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know, it is a long wait!! Well they're all certified copies that you send or photocopies like I say in the video - you don't send the original anything.

    Why did you have to go through grandparents your dad is an Irish citizen?

    • @aclaireytale
      @aclaireytale  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to be born in Ireland, my grandmother was but my dad wasn’t. My dad’s not a resident of Ireland either. You have to be living there for 2 years to sponsor if you’re not born there.
