As the video ends, you sit silently and contemplate on what you've just witnessed. Suddenly, you feel two streams of tears falling from your eye sockets to your chin. Damn did you get the feels.
Geez guys, 😶 all I can say is thank you so much for all the support! I don't feel like I did anything spectacular enough for all this outpouring but it truly makes my world so much brighter < 3
Thanks for helping to record, dude. I'm a very new critter and watching all these vids is like getting to spend time with some of my favorite people/heroes/inspirations.
You know, its people like Matt that make me have faith in humanity. And of course most of the critter community. Theres a lot of very nice people here. And im very glad one of us got his wish granted. I would love to meet all of you people and i think its a perfect example of how much potential humanity has if we stand as one instead of giving in to hate. Which is a very easy pitfall to fall in. Im in love with this show and the positivity and love it spreads. i love the hoomans who are around it. I love the good that it makes. And i hope this never dies. Even if Critical Role one day stops, i hope we are all still united.
Seriously, that's what I say. Seeing this group of people and fans and just how it brings everyone together, it just reminds you of the good people, not the mean ones.
That's so awesome. Matt was super awesome in person but I had no idea he stayed extra at his signings. Also just so people know, he doesn't charge for his signings/photos. And the story at the end was amazing. So happy I found this community and Critical Role. Thanks for posting this and the story about Cody.
That after credit's story immediately inspired me to add an enchanted item to my world. I call it.. "Cody's Cane"..yeah, i know.. how original.. Granting the wielder hope and positivity. Enchanted quarterstaff that grants immunity to fear for the wielder, 1 charge of Sunlight, and 3 charges of Mass Cure Wounds per day. Cause we all need a little hope and positive vibes in our lives. ^.^
I'd love a side campaign with Zahra, Kashaw and some new/other characters from the Slayer's Take. Make their own cool stories (mainly cuz I wanna see their backstories play out)
I was hoping there would be another Critical Role like show.. a spin-off, if you will.. Featuring the Slayer's Take, and the various contracts they end up having to take on. Especially with the Chroma Conclave; I don't see how some very rich and powerful people wouldn't pile money together to hire the Slayer's Take to get those ancient dragons and all the goodies they possess. Who would DM it, though? Matt is soooooooooo busy as it is, we couldn't possibly ask him to run two games.. could we? O:-)
This is what's so awesome about the Critical Role-community, most people are respectful(except for the rule-nerds that doesn't understand that they house-rule it) Anyway, this is the part of the internet that is good, and I'm happy to be a part of it :)
Matthew Mercer, is the fucking MAN,hands down. This guys really is the real thing I don't want this to come off the wrong way. But that's how someone should treat a fan, Cody couldn't get to him so Matthew went to him. Well done Mr Mercer.
not2shabby A lot of people with extreme anxiety are really sweet. I deal with a lot of social anxiety too but I can fake being calm. Being gay and growing up in the south in the 80s and 90s I had to learn to fake a lot of things.
Trying to fill the void the quarantine left us every thursday, I started watching these panels from years ago. The end credits caught me off guard and warmed my heart in these dark, chaotic, times. Take care guys, I can't wait till the day we get to see ep. 100 (and fight you know what, in the middle of you know where, in a you know what kind of transportation).
If anyone were to leave Critical Role, God forbid the day, then I wouldn't be against the idea of her becoming the 7th member of Vox Machina. I think Will Friedle/Kashaw or Patrick Rothfuss/Kare would be great as well (I would throw Chris Hardwick/Gern in there, but that would be implausible). I think 7 is a good number. It leaves room for 1 guest at a time. Matt's dealt with 8 multiple times and to be honest, I wouldn't want them to go more than 8 (at least not often). It can get really crazy with larger numbers, trust me.
Spin-off! Her, Will, Steve Blum, and I'm sure there are a few others that they could be convinced to join up. I'd love to see Patrick Rothfuss back, and Jennifer Hale and Tara Strong would be on my personal wish list.
Seriously, if Mercer managed to DM 8 people in motherfucking Pathfinder, he could surely do it in the more simple 5e. Then again, my dream scenario would be Mary, Will Friedle, Rothfuss, Hardwick and Matthew playing a side campaing DM'd by Liam.
Wow, such a great panel! I love Mary Elizabeth! She is kinda like one of us fans despite having played on the show. And she loves it as much as we do! :) Thanks for recording and uploading this, much appreciated!
I have watched these videos a lot and every time I learn something new about either voice acting, games, or even a bit about life. I sincerely thank you all for what you do, and for this crazy D&D game. I haven't played D&D since high school and to see it played like this (which is how I always wanted to play it) warms my heart. Keep doing what you're doing and continue to be yourselves and do not ever change for anyone! Thank you!
That last question at the end, especially with Matt and Mary recognizing Meghan (@TheAnimeDreamer on Twitter. Please follow her, she could use the love) from having met her before, was very sweet. And so was Cody's story. It's moments like that that make me so happy to be a Critter.
Wonderful job yet again, Critical Scope! I liked the after-credit story as well, I'd love to see more stuff like that. Also, I finally remembered to subscribe!
Mary, you SO nailed this part. Maybe not part. Improv? Maybe not improvisation. You SO nailed being a Hooman; you just so nailed being Critical and a critter hero, and I so look forward to the day when the stars align, and schedules conflict, and Zahra rises again. Because - DAMN - we miss you.
Yeah! The amount of times we had to intervene in youtube comment issues, you can still count on 1 hand, which is practically zero, if you see the amount of comments
The critter community is awesome! I am glad he got to go, and Kudos to those who helped him out, and to Matthew who took the time to meet a fan! Great panel!
Wow. I also started AD&D as a high school freshman 20 years ago... Yikes. I feel really old. I became DM just over half a year later only because my DM got transferred to another school at the end of Freshman Year. Before he left, I had acquired all three core books, the Al-Qadim core book (my first setting), and I bought the Ravenloft and Dark Sun Box Sets from him. I ended up reining in a large amount of my friends into the game, and I still mostly DM to this day... mostly to my second gaming group ever. :) Also, one of my first games had about 10 players. Most players I ever had was a 16-person Ravenloft game in a college games club event (mostly regulars with new people just popping up, some who never played before). That game practically ran itself as the players broke into separate cliques and, while following the plot, started weeding each other out. Never again. :)
I just wanted to say that this video was put together really well, both with links and inserted clips/images, and also the extra effort you put in to improve audio and visual quality.
oh yes we teach our kids. They can't rule after us if we don't teach them how to think quickly and creatively and play to their strengths. #CritterKidsTakeover
Gotta be honest here: Big Bang Theory was the reason I started looking for DnD on TH-cam. Yay, stereotypes! Anyway, I was watching TBBT and every now and then they'd play DnD, which confused the hell out of me. 'Wait, it's NOT a boardgame??', 'Wait, what's with the dice? Does each dice-number do something special? How do you decide that?'. It got me curious to understand a bit more about the game, so I looked around on TH-cam and found animated clips of Critical role. They were utterly hilarious, so I found the Critical Role playlist for the first campaign, started watching and well ... now I'm preparing to start playing DnD with some of my friends :D So say what you want about TBBT - people love to, after all - but it helps to bring some things into the mainstream and make them feel more accesible.

I've learned there's a wide spectrum of awkward in our community, we're all awkward in some way shape or form and he was probably just a little more awkward than most of us :)

Chris Collins roll playing games are about interactive storytelling FOR YOU. And that's great! but there's nothing wrong with a group that wants to be murder hobos together.
Me: Is it possible for me to hold back tears after the end credits?
Matt: You can certainly try.
Me: Natural 1
As the video ends, you sit silently and contemplate on what you've just witnessed. Suddenly, you feel two streams of tears falling from your eye sockets to your chin.
Damn did you get the feels.
Geez guys, 😶 all I can say is thank you so much for all the support! I don't feel like I did anything spectacular enough for all this outpouring but it truly makes my world so much brighter < 3
sometimes just being you and being kind is all we need. 😊
Thanks for helping to record, dude. I'm a very new critter and watching all these vids is like getting to spend time with some of my favorite people/heroes/inspirations.
Mary McGlynn is a treasure - love how reverent she is of the show and of Matt
She's amazing. Would love to see her as regular player on a livestream game.
Love her on the show
I wish Mary could fill a permanent spot on Critical Role. She is definitely my favorite guest so far.
"Kash and Z are not an item." - Yeah, about that...
their child(ren) would beg to differ. :)

I actually cried reading the story after the end credits. I love this community so much. Keep being you guys. All of you!
Cody now has one badass cane! Cheers, mate
Thanks for making me cry guys! ;)
Little bit more faith in humanity restored.
+zazra ;-) Good to hear :-)
exactly this :')
Seriously, that's what I say. Seeing this group of people and fans and just how it brings everyone together, it just reminds you of the good people, not the mean ones.
I wrote that just watching the show and being happy to see the community...Then I reach after the credits and cry too...
The feels about Cody and Matt!! so much love for this awesome community and the amazing Mercer :D
That's so awesome. Matt was super awesome in person but I had no idea he stayed extra at his signings. Also just so people know, he doesn't charge for his signings/photos. And the story at the end was amazing. So happy I found this community and Critical Role. Thanks for posting this and the story about Cody.
Our pleasure John :-) Matt is indeed awesome :-)
Its always great to hear that a personality like Matt is as awesome as he seems and that it not just an act like many public personas these days. :)
god damn after credit got me in tears you dum dum T^T
sorry :-(
the walking cane is now a +2 cane of ogre slaying ;-)
Haha awesome! :-)
I'm gonna do it too.
Critters are by far the best community I've ever found.
The first question. IT IS NOW BECOMING A TV SHOW!
Great panel! Thanks for uploading guys. Can't thank you enough! And thank you CODY! Watch till the end guys. Best Crit Role story yet.
+Jon Nathan you're welcome Jon. And yeah, Cody's story is awesome!
This was a very good panel.
Matt has inspired me to pursue Voice Acting! I may actually appear on *blank* show! IT'S SO DAMN HARD TO KEEP SECRETS!
Good luck and congratulations on getting out there!
"and Kash and Z are not an item" fast forward like 6 months.... well then
Literally this community is so amazing. I was holding back tears after the the credits
The ending 😭 I fucking love Matt... he's such an amazing entity.
This is what's so awesome about the Critical Role-community, most people are respectful(except for the rule-nerds that doesn't understand that they house-rule it) Anyway, this is the part of the internet that is good, and I'm happy to be a part of it :)
Heard the story at the end from Cody himself on the Gilmore's Glorious Gossip Podcast.
I totally didn't tear up at the story at the end nope not at all not one bit
I believe you :-)
I totally didn't tear up exactly as much as you didn't.
Damn contacts clouded up at the end. What happened with that
warmed my heart to see matt making someone else, feel the way he did when he opened his colossal red dragons.
+Jeff Allen haha, yeah. Now, I'm pretty sure this happens more. This story just got a lot of visibility :-)
Damn I can listen to Matt talk about anything, and Mary is awesome!
Matthew Mercer, is the fucking MAN,hands down. This guys really is the real thing I don't want this to come off the wrong way. But that's how someone should treat a fan, Cody couldn't get to him so Matthew went to him. Well done Mr Mercer.
That poor girl at the end sounded like she wanted to cry she was so flustered and just needed a hug T3T
She deals with quite a lot of anxiety, which is a shame, because she's really sweet.
not2shabby
A lot of people with extreme anxiety are really sweet. I deal with a lot of social anxiety too but I can fake being calm. Being gay and growing up in the south in the 80s and 90s I had to learn to fake a lot of things.
Lukos0036
Some people have problems faking it, though. Everybody just needs to stop fighting and give each other a hug.
not2shabby
Yeah =3=
Mary is so damn kool! She just fits in so well! She belongs in the team ^^
I wouldnt be upset at all if she took up the guest slot, permanently.
That story at the end... the people behind Critical Role are such wonderful people and the story was heartwarming.
I love this community so much. Wonderful panel, wonderful story at the end.
I love the knome cleric part for blindspot
Thumbs up if you think Mary/Zahra should become a permanent member of Critical Role.
large groups are hard to DM, fella.

Yes!!
Wow, such a great panel! I love Mary Elizabeth! She is kinda like one of
us fans despite having played on the show. And she loves it as much as
we do! :)
Thanks for recording and uploading this, much appreciated!
14:03 - Oh, if you'd only knew how far we've come for that wish to be true, my man.
Matt Mercer is the most wholesome
I have watched these videos a lot and every time I learn something new about either voice acting, games, or even a bit about life. I sincerely thank you all for what you do, and for this crazy D&D game. I haven't played D&D since high school and to see it played like this (which is how I always wanted to play it) warms my heart. Keep doing what you're doing and continue to be yourselves and do not ever change for anyone! Thank you!
These 2 people are so great. They are like the kindest, most encouraging people.
Thank you so much for this video...after the credits I was crying my eyes out, love you Cody #lessthanthree!!
Story and picture after the credits just hit me so hard in the feels...Critical Role and it's cast never cease to amaze me!
I had a feeling the acid pit happened purely for Wil Wheaton's benefit XD
That last question at the end, especially with Matt and Mary recognizing Meghan (@TheAnimeDreamer on Twitter. Please follow her, she could use the love) from having met her before, was very sweet. And so was Cody's story.
It's moments like that that make me so happy to be a Critter.
Wonderful job yet again, Critical Scope! I liked the after-credit story as well, I'd love to see more stuff like that.
Also, I finally remembered to subscribe!
+AnkokuEvangeline great! We try our best to do these things. :-)
We're not here to play tiddly winks we're here to DESTROY.
plz let Mary be a permanent part of vox machina :)
14:00 "Do you think it's gonna become an actual television series or something like that one day?"
Naaaah. Sounds unlikely.
I love how the crit community is so cool when you read comments on a video there's almost no negativity
Yeah! The amount of times we had to intervene in youtube comment issues, you can still count on 1 hand, which is practically zero, if you see the amount of comments
Mary should be a full time member!!
My first character was a 2nd ed Wizard too. Must've been in '98. I feel Matt's story about his first character...
props Cody and Matt this is great quality and we appreciate you two
If only the Out of Context D&D question was asked AFTER "I would like to fist the wound."
Can we please have Shaun on the show!
Like really I have to see his guy!
Yes!
Mary is my favorite guest of all time. So glad she was on this panel!
32:17 Even on a panel, he's got Gilmore locked and loaded.
I'm not fully caught up, I've only seen Mary's first two sequential episodes, SO glad she comes back.
I was only able to attend Friday and was able to meet Matt so this was a pleasant surprise. Hope they ask more of you to attend next year!
Great panel, Matt is an awesome dude he truly cares about people. I hope Mary is on the show again soon, Zarya is such a great character!
I want to hug Matthew so hard. *sniffle* :~)
Mercer's southern accent...
I thought Ashley Johnsons homage to CR via ad lib while as her Blindspot character was sweet
It's things like Cody's story that makes me love these guys so much :)
That FFXV question guy seemed lost
That ending though... feels
I love the Critical Role Crew and this community so much... Great job guys! :D
Matthew Mercer is a beautiful, beautiful man.
The critter community is awesome! I am glad he got to go, and Kudos to those who helped him out, and to Matthew who took the time to meet a fan!
Great panel!
+Jennybean thanks!
Very nice touch in the end!!!
"Kash and Z are not an item" she says...
"Kash and Z are not an item".... just wait a year Mary... just wait a year
At the end huuuuu I'm crying and eating ice cream... this community TTuTT ;
at least i came prepared
I just wanted to say that this video was put together really well, both with links and inserted clips/images, and also the extra effort you put in to improve audio and visual quality.
Thank you very much! It's nice to get recognition for all the effort we put into them
Critical Scope It was a pleasure to watch!
I'm not crying YOU'RE crying.
It's playing pretend like you did when you were a kid, that's the best way I think to explain D&D
*Talking about the Marble (Siphon)*
Matt: Just a failed ritual.
Me: *Hysterical laughter slowly turning into hysterical crying*
Austin Hamilton
Matt: "Just a failed ritual."
Me:...roll deception
Thanks Critical Scope this was great!
41:14 lol Matt, Gee I wonder what that Spinning orb of Death turns out to be?
Not only are the geeks creating the media, we're teaching our kids how to play the games we love to play...
oh yes we teach our kids. They can't rule after us if we don't teach them how to think quickly and creatively and play to their strengths. #CritterKidsTakeover
God I love this community
Cool panel!
Amazing story with Cody
Thanks for filming the panel
much love and GL bro
I'll be sure to let him know!
Gotta be honest here: Big Bang Theory was the reason I started looking for DnD on TH-cam. I'm horribly mainstream so whenever people talked about DnD I always got the impression that it was some boardgame that involved a lot of boring math puzzles - because it was always associated with 'nerds' and 'nerds' are good at math.
They were utterly hilarious, so I found the Critical Role playlist for the first campaign, started watching and well ... now I'm preparing to start playing DnD with some of my friends :D
So say what you want about TBBT - people love to, after all - but it helps to bring some things into the mainstream and make them feel more accesible.
Neko141212 0 Same! Also Community made DnD a bit more intriguing with adding sound effects while Abed describes the situation.
first thanks to Cody for recording the panel, and as awesome as it was for Matt to give Cody the autograph I think its awesome critical scope used their connections to get that meet up done. keep up the good work guys , really love this community. is it Thursday yet?
We did what we thought was the right thing to do
Random Final Fantasy question was random...
Yeah, what was that guys deal? Weird.
I've learned there's a wide spectrum of awkward in our community, we're all awkward in some way shape or form and he was probably just a little more awkward than most of us :)
Love how classy Matt was about just answering it without drawing attention to that, and also fielding the Keyleth question afterwards.
As Matt said, "We're all a little awkward." followed by Mary's, "It's probably why we all get along so well."
And now we know that Matt voices a charcter in ff15.
" i have been playing longer than some of you have been alive." and darrin's character was created before you (and maybe me) were alive too.
Building a small village. I remember Homlet the village from ADD 2 nd edition T1. Great idea on how it shoulder be done
For anyone just listening to the audio in the background like me, make sure you bring up the video when the outro music changes at the end! Very nearly just closed the video, but very glad I didn't. Critter love.
Good advice :-)
The story at the end. So amazing. :')
I love how Mary ended up picking Matt's brain just as much as the Q&A people did. xD
Scottish Brogue "would you like a tea?!" slays me. 🤣🤣
Great work putting this together man!
Thanks man!
At one point, during this pannel, it was high noon
"Kash and Zee are not an item" 😂
MY FEELS DAMMIT!
Critter4Ever
Roll playing games are interactive storytelling. Anyone who likes a good story should like roll playing games. They're not just about being murder hobos.
For one of the d&d games I'm in, I'm writing narratives of each session or two, which later on I might try to turn into a novel.
Chris Collins roll playing games are about interactive storytelling FOR YOU. And that's great! but there's nothing wrong with a group that wants to be murder hobos together.
When u find out Lucian was built from Matt’s op beholder
The dude that asked about FF is my favorite.
He was at the wrong panel, but he wasn't about to give up the question that he prepared. A real hero.
Best..... Reply..... Ever!
Awesome, thanks for the upload :)
Also, I really love the effort of putting in the little images and stuff as they are talking. Waaay cool of you thanks :)
Doing our best!
Thanks man! Appreciate it :-)
this videos production Quality was in partially Above Average so thanks Cody and Cr-Sc For the Video.
