Second time reacting to Ado's music, each time I'm more surprised and in love with her voice and music, in today's video I was witness of her versatility wheter it is rapping in Fleeting Lullaby, singing latin/popish lines in Odo. or playing with the intention in Tot Musica. Give me more Ado songs to react, I need MORE in my life!

24:20 "She sounds so evil" In the film she's actually portraying the villain. The character Uta uses music as her weapon/superpower. This is definitely one of the darker songs for when the gloves come off.

HAHAHAHA, I LOVE seeing people reacting to Ado music. She’s easily the best unknown gem, but her popularity is growing at a rate beyond comprehension. Is what I’d like to say, but that was more accurate around 3-4 months ago. She’s taking strides onto the world stage now, and she’s gonna shake it all up.
She deserves a world scope!
Actually Ado made a live of Odo. I knew her vocals were godlike, but hearing her live it's awesome. Highly recommended.

odo means dance and her name Ado is derive from a kind of traditional japanese drama called 'kyougen'(狂言), which is also the name of Ado's first album. Ado is a type of character in kyougen, similar to a supporting role.

First she called herself Ado because it sounded cool, but now she says she wants to be an ado(suporting caracter) to people in their lives. It's so fucking cool
Her voice sounds like a toy, it's insane how she has this voice control. Scream, Drive, Rap, laugh, and etc combined with perfect singing techniques and a wonderful Flow. It seems like she can just do anything.
Now specifically analyzing Tot Musica, there is an absurd highlight in her voice because there are few instruments. To me this seems to have been done to demonstrate loneliness and give more power to Ado's insane performance by demonstrating all her bad feelings in her voice. And singing this song is also for the few, a lot of screams, drive, emotion in the voice, if they sing in an average way, the music is very weak.
I love how Japanese music (eg Ado with Latin music, rap, electro, rock... ) takes advantage of global music in general and presents high quality music as popular compared to the west. In Brazil, for example, popular music is technically rubbish, in the USA the most popular ones are of average quality, and in Japan they are Lisa, Aimer, Ado. For me because they are songs made for anime and not for singing on stage, they end up taking a lot more work to build resulting in a high quality final product. Other than that, there's the cultural issue, where they value technique more than Westerners in general.
And Sawano is insane but I've already said too much

Sorry this is going to be a long comment but i had to point this out. Some parts of Tot Musica are in old germanic runes. Someone in Reddit translaied the parts as well as they could. Many parts had to be quessed so most likely not 100% right.

The first song fleeting lullaby was written and produced by the group FAKE TYPE who became famous for their combination of electro-swing and rap, highly recommend checking them out.

After listening to the Fleeting Lulluby I've made my decision that Ado-san is one of the, if not the best rappers out there...
As her rapping is not just about rhythm or beats or tempo or speed... And dynamic variations of all those, But she was able to conver different emotions through the breakdown where the notes are changing so rapidly at every syllable and she is literally emoting with the voice, notes ....
And This I've never heard anywhere done to this level...!!
Her incredible pitch range, range of styles from melody to rock to hard gritty screams to rap... she is definitely one in a million kinda talent...
She can be very graceful,bpeaceful giving hope.... But she can also be rough, dark and terrifying...
Tot musica is totally another level... It actually feels like evil dark underworld demon king resurrection through her voice!!
What a breakdown of Ado's talent, you're right, generally rappers don't focus in as many different aspects of music (texture, interpretation, intention, melodic development, etc), generally rhythm and not even that deep as ado, she's not only singing steady subdivisions (as most rappers) but she plays with uneven rhythms, syncopation, etc. Amazing! 🤩
@@Jhulian_R I do wanna give a bit of credit to THHK of FAKE TYPE., the producers of the tracks. Normally, they also rap on their tracks, and in Fleeting Lullaby's case, Ado's rap was basically her rendition of THHK's performance of it. This isn't uncommon, for an artist to sing the melody (and the lyrics if they also wrote them) and the actual vocalist to recreate it, but I wanted to give props to the original artists because they are also quite talented rappers. Hell, she did a voice Tweet once of doing the fast segment of verse 2's rap at half speed and concluded the tweet by saying "FAKE TYPE is scary." XD THHK's voice is very different, but if you're interested in hearing more rap using the same kinds of pitch modulation and syncopation as Fleeting Lullaby, those aspects are THHK's signature style.
I wanted to add as a potential recommendation, especially with relevance to Fleeting Lullaby and Uta: "Princess" is a song that significantly helped increase awareness of FAKE TYPE. They have a bit of a complicated relationship with the song, as many people associated the character from the MV with them and there was the question of who was actually growing popular, them or the character? This spawned a series of other follow up tracks, "Mister Jewel Box" and "Kruel Kreator" that expand on those feelings. I bring it up specifically, however, as Princess was cited as one of the inspirations for the character Uta (and is likely why FAKE TYPE ended up writing and producing a track for the movie). Honestly, Electro-swing as a genre is still kind of niche in Japan, but hopefully One Piece Red helps spread the good word. lol

It makes more sense when you think of this as UTA'S music and not Ado's. Fleeting lullaby is swing music and you see that in how Uta dances; plus she is going through sleep deprivation delirium and it shows in the songs visuals
