    I love this explanation! Brand strategy has always been such a nebulous topic to me, but that pyramid makes everything super clear. I too tend to get creative strategy and brand strategy mixed up.

    Thumbs up your the first out of 5 videos that doesn't consume or start the videos with rambling and the life story of someone else but you get to and stick to the point. Time is money and you get that. Also the video makes sense in plane language. Thx.

    The pyramid is so helpful! I feel like I already knew what it was describing, but had been struggling to really simplify and clarify it. So valuable, thank you!

    Melinda, I'd argue that Strategy is the direction to the objective and Action Plan is a step by step execution of this direction. Jonathan Stark and Blair Enns go on this topic very deep.

    • @melindalivsey1
      @melindalivsey1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I don't know. I know people who've charged $10k their first time doing it and others who practice with clients for free the first few times or charge very minimally.

    Great video Melinda, however I have one question, when you said that "I cannot guarantee that we're gonna win but I can guarantee the best possible plan to get there", what if the client asks," how can you say that it's the best possible plan if you're not even certain that it'll get us the results?"

    • @melindalivsey1
      @melindalivsey1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ali! Great question. Maybe a better way I could have said it would have been to simply say that I guarantee a plan that’s aimed to get there, since “best possible” may lead people to believe that we should guarantee results. What are your thoughts?

    • @alisaqlain3633
      @alisaqlain3633 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@melindalivsey1 OMG! I cannot believe you replied!!! I'm so happyy! You're awesome!!
      and yeah, I think this is a more suitable answer, though have you ever faced any objections from clients on this statement? if yes, how did you respond?

    • @melindalivsey1
      @melindalivsey1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alisaqlain3633 not that I can remember. I don’t always say this statement either. I focus on asking questions to understand the problem they want to solve. I once heard that if we are able to articulate a client’s problem better than they can, they will likely assume we can solve it. If they feel understood and they trust us, they may hire us to help them solve that problem and be ok with the process we suggest. It takes practice! The key is to stay curious and not try to convince or prove why our solution is the best choice. Ideally, they’ll come to that conclusion through the conversation if we’re a good fit.

    The explanation is clear and I thank you for that, just don’t agree about that the branding strategist failed to helping to motivate people 9:25 . A person who has a brand is an adult. This person should already know to motivate themselves without having a “babysitter”, to them in order to do their job and make things happen to their own business…

    Your videos are really informative!

    • @melindalivsey1

      Hi Jaime! So sorry I missed this comment. I sell it by using a process that's a mix of what Blair Enns teaches in Pricing Creativity and Jonathan Stark's 3 Why questions. I learned strategy from CORE but then made it my own and updated it.
