I wonder why the eclipse person was there in eda’s dream, if it’s a real thing, or if it’s symbolic, but it seems to be important !
I think it's in the owl beast's nightmare and Eda got to experience it, the same way the owl gets to see hers.
Perhaps the eclipse is when the day of Unity takes place. Considering that's a fairly common trope
I assume we witnessed the beast's past (more like a piece where it was probably turned into a curse)
Well in episode 8 of season 2, Amity was seen wearing a crescent moon shirt, so it could her acknowledging Luz’s feelings for Amity and having a subconscious fear that Amity would force her to leave Luz, or at least would take Luz away, or something similar. Little evidence from someone who’s only thought of this for a couple minutes so I expect it to have several holes but that is my theory.
In this episode we see edas memories but for the last one it might be the owl beasts memorie before it turned into a curse
OK, here's my theory: The owl beast was originally from a different isle far away from the Boiling isle. In this unknown land, it was hunted down and captured by a witch that turned it into a scroll. At some point the witch lost the scroll to the sea, which carried it to the Boiling Isles.
Essentially, the owl beast is not a curse, it is a frightened animal in a foreign land bound by magic it does not understand.

In the credits, the crescent witch is called The Collector, who shows up in episode 12 on the Boiling Isles. At the very least, something to do with The Collector shows up, so I would think that The Collector is on the Isles.

To be fair she hasn’t been through anything good in the recent episodes. Potentially lost Raine, Luz leaving the Owl House soon, being reminded how she accidentally scratched her father’s eye, being reminded at how Raine dumped her, knowing that she’s been on the run for a long time and it wasn’t that easy for her in the start.
Also in ep 1 of season 2 she almost lost Luz because Luz thought she was a burden to her

I more think that the scene with the moon person is actually a representation of what happened to the owlbeast before it was turned into a curse! It was probably just another monster before being sealed away as scroll then trapped inside eda! :D

Ok here's my little head cannon. I think that the curse is obviously a metaphor for mental or chronic illnesse but for the owl beast I feel like it wasn't another person that got turned into a scroll but the owl beast was hunted by the moon person and was running away cause I think they were a component to a curse. And when it tried to run away it started to turn into the actually curse.
The way Eda says "no no no, I hate this part..." is really good. The emotions in it hit hard like shit :(
I love how quickly they notice and resolve their issues... instead of it being dragged out got for 4 seasons

I think the last bit before turning into a scroll is the Owl beast's memory. It used to be free but captured by the hooded person and turned into a scroll, and because of how much it wants to escape and be free again, it tries to takes over Eda's body thus begins the power struggles between the 2. Now that both the Owl beast and Eda had learned to be in the same body, they syncronized into the new form

Even the Owl Beast has a traumatic past. No wonder it emerges due to stress, and why the light explosion triggered a transformation.
Honestly this whole dream sequence may be the best sequence in the entire series. Truly remarkable in every regard.

2:54 I think this scene was to suppose to reference a Greek myth about Icarus and his attempt to escape with his father. Icarus was too close to the sun, causing the waxes that connected his feathers to melt which leads to him falling into the endless seas and dying. This memory could possibly be the owl beast and not Eda's. I think the scroll is suppose to mean that the beast was sealed into that scroll( this could also technically mean... that the owl isn't a curse(WHICH IS WHY THE HEALING COVEN COULDN'T DISPELL IT!) but an infant demon beast trying to escape the physical confines of Eda, but learned to accept that it is now part of her.)

I love your theory about the Curse!! I was thinking the same thing and I feel terrible for the Beast he/she never wanted this and who knows how long this curse has been going it’s been suffering for so long. I’m glad Eda is breaking that cycle and befriending the beast

So, those explosions the witch cast on the beast gave the beast ptsd, and the firecracker eda’s dad set off was enough to set off its fight/flight mode
I think Eda doesn’t want to see her father because she feels ashamed that she hurt him, even if she didn’t have control over what she did.
Lilith better confess to their dad that it was her fault that eda was cursed. I know she is a better person now but i still feel mad at her for making eda suffer like this, and yes i know she didn't mean to have eda being cursed for so long but i just wish she could've confessed back when they were kids.
@@firemiracle I feel as if Lilith is ashamed of herself as well. She clearly deeply regrets her decision, and she worked hard to help Eda how she could (Trying to integrate her into the Covens so that Belos could heal her, sort of like how their mom tried to heal Eda with the phony healing magic stuff). What she did was extremely wrong, and it shows how even the smallest of mistakes can have the biggest consequences. She could have confessed, but if we look through her perspective, what good would it bring her? She would be an outcast in her family. But if she worked hard to join the Emperor's Coven and find a way to heal Eda, she could redeem herself before she even got found out.
The thing that this show went above and beyond on is that not only did she just injure her father, she permanently disabled her father (recall his hands shaking and the comment that he could no longer carve anything). That's not a topic that is usually addressed in kid shows with this kind of plotline.
And it only serves to add more feelings of guilt and shame for her, on top of everything else.
The hooded figure is actually called The collector and seemed to hunt down that beast before so is that figure still out there searching for it
And Belos dug the collector up, unleashing it on the world. The question is it doing some task for Belos or acting on it's own.

I think raine and eda broke up because eda pushed everyone away when she got the curse and raine couldn’t take it anymore. Raine still loves eda and it’s obvious. I really hope they end up together again in the future.

Ok so what I got from this:
That eclipse person kidnapped/vanquished the beast and used their magic to put it inside a scroll thus birthing the curse. That old man guy person finds the scroll and puts it in his trash pack thinking that it's probably liter only for it to end up in the night market, after ending up in the night market Lilith takes possession of it and uses it to curse Eda thus leading to everything so far. So basically that owl beast used to be an actual genuine creature beforehand that's wild. I wonder if the eclipse person makes curses for a living, or like if anything else can be turned into a curse.

So we know now because of the new episode that the moon person was The Collector. Both characters had the same VA so it makes sense. The reason we don’t see them as the form we saw in Belos’ mind is because we are looking through the eyes of the owl beast. It only really interprets shapes and colors. So obviously we only see the moon on the face.
Eda and King add to the demon/magic lore AND get a power up. I'm so happy for them.

I have a theory that when Eda smacked the beast in the head, everything switched so she was the one seeing the creature’s memories.
As I think about the mysteries of the curse scrolls. I theorized that these beasts or creatures were originally real ones rather than as curse scrolls. The mysterious figure was probably hunting these creatures for fun or for something else, probably cast a spell on them to turn into curse scrolls. Whoever cited these scrolls to someone or to themselves, they will turn into their 'beast' forms temporarily.
Even if it was a dream, part of flashbacks of Eda's life. But it also includes the flashbacks of the owl beast's past too.
The curse isn't a curse, it's a literally demon sealed away in a scroll... Lilith implanted a demon into her sister...
One could say having a demon implanted inside you is a curse

Literally every episode of season 2 have been bangers. Week to week this show feeds me GOOD!
In all likely hood the segment with the person in the moon robe was the owl beast memories. Eda had a lot of commentary during the clips with her father and Raine but didn't really say much with the hooded figure. She also took pity on the owl beast shortly after seeing that. I suspect who ever they were they were trying to capture the owl beast by sealing them in that scroll, but failed to recover it as it broke free before the spell could be completed and it fell into the ocean. That might not even be on the Boiling Isles as the skull seemed a bit different than the titan's.

Why does this make so much sense? I’ve never seen Eda’s owl curse in the light of a chronic or mental illness. It does kind of add up, like chronic/mental illnesses, it does seem to be an everyday hindrance in Eda’s life.
Yeah, the elixirs could be a metaphor for pills or other form of prescribed medicine, while her interactions with her family (especially her mom saying she accepts her for who she is) does seem akin to a mental or chronic illness

Up to the magic bit, I think eda should think about how the owl beast is why she *chose* that.
She seems to realise that a bit when she watches herself not confide in Raine.
We can't always choose our situations, but we can choose our reactions to them. Eda chose to isolate herself in reaction to the curse.
Raine braking up with eda broke me and the fact that Raine in edas requiam said "go you know i cant stand an audience" broke me to tears like i actualy broke down and cried my cousin had to grab my ipad and hug me.

In the episode, Eda gets to see the owl beast’s past, it’s suffering. How it isn’t trying to screw up her life, it’s in extreme distress. And it wants to get out.

I’ve seen people get irritated by Raine’s decision, for some reason, but they made the right choice. What they had with Eda wasn’t based on trust, and the fact that she never asks them for help and keeps to herself, Raine made the healthiest decision they could by leaving.
Worrying about someone who’s constantly pushing you away, at some point it becomes toxic and the best thing to do is leave, no matter how much it hurts to.
I totally get that since I have been in a similar friendship where people keep pushing me away

I had a theory that the collector could be Amity’s mother Odalia. If you look at the season one finale of the owl house the shot where we see teenage Eda transform into the owl beast, you can see Amity’s parents as teenagers in the background and Odalia is giving a odd evil looking smile like she’s intrigued of seeing Eda transforming into a monster. Odalia did mention she doesn’t like weak witches.
Why does this show nail what Steven universe tripped over
Because steven universe focused a lot on things being as lighthearted as possible. When the show first debuted, it was considered quite advanced I think, even tapping into the topic of mental illness but trying to make it light enough to not traumatise kids
