The Kato drive has never failed me. I have engines that are decades old from Kato. Some of the older Kato still run better than the premium engines offered by other companies.
Thanks for your many how to videos. Im a 57 yr old , basically with a N scale Kato starter set, a pile of of pink foam , chicken wire as well as other mountain forming ways,......a door...and barely sticking my toe in the pool....and a wife about to shove me in.

As someone newer to the hobby, folks like you are amazing. I've seen the huge layouts and been intimidated, but you've helped me realize that starting small is not a bad thing. If anything, it's better for me. I've loved trains since I was a kid, and excited to be working on a layout of my own finally. Interesting one Jimmy. I accidentally converted to Kato when a new distributor opened in the UK. He sells a huge variety of Japanese, American, German, British and Swiss locos and accessories.
SD40s have always been my favorite locomotive, and ever since moving into my new house my HO models are too big and have wanted to start with Nscale, and this loco would be the boost to start off that journey

The EMD SD40-2 is one of my all time favorite locomotives. Thanks for all you show on your channel! Its inspired me to finally stop rowing a stockpile of unused track, locos, buildings, and rolling stock into finally assembling what I have and running them.

I glad to see model RR hasn't died out. I used to do model RR in the past but set it aside because how expensive it became. I still have my set's and I hope to get back into it one day. Maybe sooner than later. Cheers!
I remember when these first came out. Such gorgeous models. I have been waiting for them to come out again for my layout. While I model the final days of the Illinois Terminal, there are many roads they interchanged with that ran these. Great video!

As others have mentioned, your channel was one of the first I found when I returned to the hobby. Great content beneficial for newer RR modelers. I’m still building a collection of locomotives and rolling stock, mostly from eBay and a local used train shop, but it would be pretty cool to have a new KATO in the collection. 😁

I'm glad Kato re-released these engines. They're a good budget alternative to the Scaletrains and BLI locomotives.

The simple design of the Milwaukee road paint schemes have always been a favorite of mine. If I win, I’d weather it and patch the logos with my own.
