Can you try traditional body & face care + daily routine from 17th & 16th century of different countries?? # TRY Everyday traditional food from different countries like Japan, France, UK etc # there is Buly1803 has body oil & wash made since 1800s + Aker fasi for red lip + the ionized cleansing face water as a face wash Also Japanese women used camellia oil for moisturising the face & the hair too + adzuki beans as face scrub + sake homemade toner ●for clothes there are the corsets & many old fashioned clothes from many brands available on IG & online
Such a cute pattern. I want to share a few things I find helpful when making gathers in case you have novice sewers out there. One is to sew two rows of gathering stitches instead of just one. Not only is it helpful to already have that “bonus” thread if one breaks, but I find it is easier to pull two threads than just one. The second tip is to be sure to pull the bobbin thread as you gather. It seems to be a bit looser, therefore it pulls more easily. I usually pull on one end of the thread until I get to the middle, then I pull on the other end until it meets where the first one stops. Happy sewing, everyone!
I love this so much! I am the proud owner of a beautiful vintage and/or handmade apron collection and now I'm going to make a ton of my own! Lol. I have a feeling that everyone that I know will be gifted handmade aprons this year. Lol.
This is so great! What an adorable apron.. love the ruffley heart bodice and pocket so much! Also love the retro color of your sewing machine 😍 Even the little heart pins you used were so cute! Another lovely video.. best channel on TH-cam, hands down!💕
Beautiful project & so fun to watch! There’s a pattern (Simplicity 8762) that’s somewhat similar style if it’s helpful for anyone 😊. I love the way you did the straps in the back though! Very fun!!
I have two vintage aprons: one I found at an antique store and the other was handmade by my grandmother. It's very lightweight, almost handkerchief material. Thanks for the tutorial.
I absolutely love this video! Everything from the music, to the cinematography, to the pattern of the fabric you used, its all so beautiful! Thank you for creating such a work of art! It was the perfect thing to watch cuddled up under a blanket on this rainy Sunday. ♥️
Oh wow! The idea with the loops in the waist is amazing! I will do that on my next apron. So smart. I always had to button the shoulder steaps to the waist
Thank you so much for explaining the crossover straps! I've always wanted an apron where the straps cross over at the back but I've never actually known how to do it. Mum has promised me we'll make me a cute apron once her sewing stuff is set up (she recently moved house). I'd do it by myself...but the last time I touched a sewing machine it was 20 years ago in school and I was distinctly in the not-gifted student category :(
I love it!!! You make it look so easy! I really like the bedsheet idea and I'll have to see if Goodwill carries old sheets! Maybe I'll raid my mom's linen closet to see what I can find! Lol. That could be some really vintage finds and it holds up in the laundry!
Really Enjoyed watching U design & create/make this Apron!!! It's Cute, although I think I prefer the two (pink & blue) that U showed at the beginning of your video... This was Great, as I recently bought several cheap Aprons & several Vintage Apron patterns, in order to create Vintage Style Aprons out of very plain, no frills, modern things... I love the Ruffles!!! As, sadly, I haven't a body form /mannequin to put the Apron on, your trying on the Aprons helped me decide how I'd like mine to look. I haven't done any sewing in quite a few years, so this is "dipping my toes in the water" to see whether it'll get me back to it, or whether I'll simply leave the sewing to others & just shop for bargains. Thx again for the Wonderful Video!!! Really Appreciate it!!! ♡♡♡♡
I did it! I made not one but two very cute aprons, using an old black tablecloth with scalloped edges (very handy for making a fancy bottom edge with zero effort, lol). I made them during the latest Melb lockdown for my daughter and I, as a little project while she was home schooling. She said it was boring because she's 6 and I couldn't let her use the sewing machine, but she's very pleased with the end result. She also thinks you're very pretty, Sage, and clever at making things. Thanks for this tutorial, it was like riding a bicycle as I haven't sewn with a machine since high school, but I remembered a lot along the way (particularly how bad I am at sewing a waistband!) Might try my hand at pants next, from your other tutorial :)
Aww your message made me smile!! That is so lovely to hear you made two cute aprons, yayy!! I hope you both get lots of wear out of them and good luck with all your future sewing endeavours! Sending love to you and your daughter xxx
Ahhh I dropped my phone on my knee while watching but I couldn’t even cry in pain because this video makes me so happy 😭 thank you sage, you’re doing amazing work! ❤️
Since subscribing to your channel, I’ve started to wear aprons. Ironically bought over 10 years ago but never really worn them, too nice! Got fed up with dealing with grease/tomato stains on my clothes, after watching you, the apron came out of the drawer!!
Thank you for sharing an enjoyable video! I get the feeling ironing is under-rated, yet with just that little effort it makes such a difference. All my best to you in your nursing career.
Love the agent carter vibes ! I discovered your channel few days ago thanks to the henna videos (that I use too, it's very common in Arabic country) and I really like it! Thank you for your lovely work! A subscriber from Paris^^
This is so cute and very easy! I haven't touched a sewing machine since high school, might be time to commandeer my partner's one he got for Xmas last year. There's an old tablecloth I have with scalloped edges that would be perfect (one less hem to sew, lol). Thanks Sage, you're a gem.
It turned out so beautifully Sage, well done and thanks a lot for this fun and educational video! I know you’re very busy, but I would also love a ‘How to start sewing’ kind of video. Good luck with nursing school! 💛
You inspired me to use this as my first sewing project. I'm actually in the market for a sewing machine. If you have any ideas to find a good one please let me know.
This is sooo darling! One tip from one seamstress to another....on the little white bow you added, you need to attach it vertically (sewing across it horizontally) so when you make the bow, it won't flip up sideways. 😁
This is so lovely! Going to try to use it as inspiration to make my own apron once I get back to my sewing machine :) I adore the one from your dining through the decades series, so this was an excellent tutorial! Definitely trying the pinking shears trick, too - great tip :)
Hot tea and Sage on a Saturday afternoon. 🕊️😌 Such a beautiful apron...looks like a very pretty summer dress as well 💕 (the back just needs to be covered 😏)
Okay so I wasn't sure about the belt loops, but when you showed it at the end actually it made me want to modify some of my aprons. Just because it seems like that would look so much tidier. How cool is that?
You should look into making and selling PDF downloadable patterns for vintage and retro style clothing! It's really hard to find any decent patterns right now and I bet you could really corner that market. This apron is super cute. 💖
Hi Sage I wish I was as smart as you. Your videos are great I seem to learn something different all the time love the apron love your videos. Thank you🇦🇺❤️🧡💕
It just takes longer without one but it's definitely doable! Depending on how fast you can hand sew it might take you a week or two of dedicated evenings. Watch TV or listen to podcasts (or Sage videos!) is my recommendation, I'm always sewing up holes in my kids clothes and socks which can't be done with a machine anyway, and that's what I do.
I totally agree with both of you that it can be done. I always do it for little things but when it comes to a really big project I just would prefer a sewing machine. I can never get it looking quite good enough when I do a big project by hand. Big props to you for getting it down though!
This is such a sweet apron! I spent so long trying to make an apron from a pattern, and in the end it was a disappointment, it didn’t fit at all! Next I’m going to try making one like this :)
I love this! I’m due for a new apron. I really loved the pink one you wore in the dining through the decades video. Do you have a pattern for that one? Thanks Sage!
I suggest always making at least two gathering lines, and three makes it even less likely that you'll accidentally catch something you didn't want to sew. Then one you've sewn it all, just remove the third row of gathering.

I love pinking shears, they're a huge time saver,. Very cute apron, I like the heart front, so sweet. Thank you Sage for the video sweetie 💕🥰💕
Oh my gosh that one apron is so precious 😍 the little heart shape and frills. Cuuute.
I used your tutorial as a base, and my Cruella DeVil apron is coming along so nicely. Still a while until complete but I’m loving it already!!!

Thank you! I appreciate all the attention to detail as a novice. The apron is so pretty. I was looking to buy one similar. I should just make it. 🌸
It's heaps of fun and great experience making your own apron! And each time you wear it, you appreciate it more because you made it yourself!
I love your aprons and the way you have designed it. Just gorgeous

So cute. If you do two rows of gathering stitches the gathers behave a little better That's what my grandma drilled into me when we made skirts.
Oh that's a great tip from your grandmother, thank you!
When I saw the title of this video, I said, YES!!!!!!!
Ya know I had been looking for an apron and now I do believe I want to make it ❤ thank you for this 🙏

Fab apron. I sort of expected a laptop you use to have a mechanical keyboard, and be made of bakelite though 🙂
I adore your channel 💖
Your videos are so refreshing and such excellent content thank you for doing them.
Aw, thanks so much! 💕
Well that turned out super cute. I seriously think I have a bedsheet in that pattern tucked away from my mom's things!
So Beutiful...Stunning creation.
Thank you! 💞
Hot tea and Sage on a Saturday afternoon. 🕊️😌 Such a beautiful apron...looks like a very pretty summer dress as well 💕 (the back just needs to be covered 😏)
Ohhh yes, now you're giving me ideas for some future summer dresses!! (it's winter here in Australia so it's too cold for cute little dresses) haha

@@SageLilleyman You're welcome! I loved your process of finding inspiration & drawing a concept! Have a beautiful day☀️
How did you learn to sew? Have you been sewing long? I love this is easy enough for me to try since I’m just learning, thank you so much!
Absolute perfection ❤
Hi Sage I wish I was as smart as you. Your videos are great I seem to learn something different all the time love the apron love your videos. Thank you🇦🇺❤️🧡💕
Aw thanks so much for watching! :)
You have a simply beautiful channel.
Super cute
So cute! I wish I had a sewing machine so I could try something like this.
You don’t need a sewing machine. I make most of my own clothes using a hand sewing kit packed in a mason jar.
