    Ntate Mokoto, were all those people mentioned in the bible not ancestors/badimo? Abraham, Isaac, Jacob ''et al." ? Why do we always have to reference them when we need to be closer to God & not our own ancestors(grandparents, parents etc) Are the Jews not the chosen nation of God? Why are some of their practices almost similar to African Spirituality? Most of them don't even recognize Yeshua as the messiah. Ke kopa tlhakisetso Ntate. Just a side note: I'm a great fan of yours Ntate. Keep doing the work you are doing & let's have a healthy dialogue on issues you are raising

    Ntate Mokoto, your analysis of African spirituality is very flawed and comes from the angle of colonialism, or colonialist mind and attitude. If you acknowledge the gifts that Africans possess or are born with, then you must understand that African spirituality and practices existed even before Khotso Sethuntsa was born in 1898. There were many traditional healers and prophets/fortune tellers because African spirituality was in existence and they knew nothing about the Bible or Jesus Christ, nor the holy spirit we claim to know better than anyone. All they knew was the presence of their ancestral spirit that would communicate with them on what to do and not to do. For example, during the wars, the spirit would talk through those traditional healers or prophets on where to run to, or which direction the enemies would come from. Khotso Sethuntsa relocated to Kokstad and later moved to Lusikisiki, and became a prominent figure there. He is one of few people who refused to accept the Western religion (Christianity that was brought by colonisers or missionaries) and continued to practice African religion, and some whites consulted him to get success in their endeavors. I know exactly where you are going, and what you are insinuating... And the "Kganya" up there had no connection with whatsoever with Khotso because they were against the use of traditional medicine from the onset, and never relied on mermaids or snakes. Just for common sense purposes, if those mermaids were that powerful, the Khotso lineage or family would still exist and powerful as ever. I grew up in the Eastern Cape and we know Khotso history very well, we did not study it on Google just to link things. You are distorting the history!!!
    Your assertion about education is also very wrong and misguided, because when one talks about issues of spirituality and religion, we all need to be involved so that the public does not consume wrong information that is made available to drive certain propaganda. We all have the right to analyze these things and critique your viewpoints because they are not correct, in as much as we fully understand that there is thin line between politics and religion. In fact there is a growing field nowadays called Politics of Religion...but bare in mind there is no right or wrong religion!
    Lastly, if you were indeed pro-African, you and your allies wouldn't go around criticizing the African indigenous spirituality and religions, but instead, you'd acknowledge those as the sacred heritage of the country, and acknowldge, and appreciate diversity. It's only black Africans (especially here in Mzantsi) who are busy demonizing and dehumanizing other spiritual organizations and religions. Ask yourself why other religions/ races don't do what you are doing.
    There are many prominent African spiritualists and prophets who existed before, like abo Ntsikana and Nongqawuse, and many others who foresaw the invasion of colonialists in Africa. Issues of spirituality, particularly African religion are very complex and can never be unpacked by one man or a smallanyana group by just ticking boxes.

    • @seramedonald5867
      @seramedonald5867 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So what ur point exactly since you know better Nd do you believe in what exactly?

    • @Qhudeni
      @Qhudeni ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seramedonald5867 my points are: 1.Ntate Mokoto is contradicting himself.
      2. His analysis of Khotso story and generally linking it to all people who are believing in African spirituality is wrong and misleading. Not every prominent indigenous African church is lead by pastors, archbishops or bishops abathwele. That's a very wrong claim/ assertion.
      3. African spirituality is not evil, and should never be reduced to mermaids and snakes. But we must acknowledge that there is no spirituality without nature, or environment. Mermaids or snakes that are controlling people sounds very fictitious and quiet delusional.
      4. There are many Africans with good spiritual gifts and should be acknowledged and never be mocked.
      5. Christianity is new and should never be used to undermine African spirituality. It came with the arrival of colonisers and missionaries, and indigenous African spirituality had sustained our forefathers during the ancient times. It's a joke to pretend or claim Christianity.
      6. Criticizing and mocking black Spiritual healers or prophets is non-progressive and still drive the colonial agenda.
      7. There is a thin line between religion and politics, and Ntate Mokoto is now driving a political agenda. You can never mix spirituality and politics. WAFEME IS A POLITICAL LEADER AND HIS ANALYSIS OR VIEW POINTS ARE DRIVING A POLITICAL AGENDA. UNFORTUNATELY, HE IS USING A VERY DELICATE INSTRUMENT- SPIRITUALITY AND RELIGION, SO LEAVING CHRISTS MISSION BEHIND. SO THERE'S NO GOD IN WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, ESPECIALLY THAT SARKO ORGANIZATION. ITS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE LEADERS WHO DO NOT RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE COUNTRY.
      8. Issues of boloi or satanism that he talks of are very fictitious/ mythical.
      9. Lastly, the spirit of Christ does not cause or promote confusion, division, hatred, gossip, judgment, mockery, etc. But promote unity, peace, love, and diversity.
      10. Lastly, there is no right or wrong religion. If you all understand these things from this angle, then you will respect other people and their religious beliefs.

    • @karaboisaack3339
      @karaboisaack3339 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Siyabulela Mgolozeli
      1. You are contradicting yourself...
      2. What is African Spirituality and What was Khotso Sethunsa practicing according to you?
      3. What you refer as African spirituality is in the old testament of the Bible...that Spiritual system of doing things I believe was hacked by the devil a long time ago that's why God brought about the new system which Jesus Christ (both systems are in the bible to show you the transition)
      4. Ntate Mokoto never mocked any one with Spiritual gifts, he actually continues to acknowledge them, furthermore if you listen carefully he is telling his story that's why he prefers for people who have been led to believe that they are practicing African spirituality only to find out they are captured by the devil to come and give testimonies, because people like you will Critize him.
      5. Christianity moves us from a corrupted pathway which is what you call African spirituality.
      6. Where did he mock black leaders??
      7. You just mixed Spirituality with politics on this point...if not then you can't say that him addressing a spiritual matter is pushing a colonial agenda ( its like saying the Bible came with white people, then for that reason you will reject it, the Spiritual matters are more complex than you think, look at the Death of Christ)
      8.if you think Boloi is fictional, then you are fictional yourself...If not explain what you mean
      9. You acknowledge the spirit of Christ...then how do you link what you call African spirituality with Christ?
      10. In everything that exist there's a wrong and a right,,, I'm very dissapointed in this statement.

    • @Qhudeni
      @Qhudeni ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karaboisaack3339 Read my argument above and make sense of it with an open mind and don't throw tantrums, or emotions. If you want to understand African spirituality, please use your online dictionary, e.g. google, or any other literature search engine. You should normalize reading with understanding. The short answer to Khotso's question: He was a traditional healer, practicing African traditional medicine guided by African spirituality. Unfortunately, the field of theology needs people who are open-minded, and able to critique and debate ideologies. Not everything is about Western ideologies... Gone are those days! People are free to choose for themselves, not to be coerced into particular propaganda. The Constitution of the country is clear on religion, and association of choice. These religious politics are so backward, and people drive them in the pretense of showing people light, and they are not honest about making money.
      Away/down with people who demonize, and pathologize indigenous African faith organizations and dehumanize indigenous spiritual leaders, healers, and prophets. It's quite a shame in the African continent, especially by fellow blacks.

      @karabo isaack I like what you said about ntante Mokoto has never ever insulted the gifts of the Holy Spirit rather he has been promoting it bcoz he acknowledged that we need to be led by the Spirit but have discerning gifts to understand which spiritism it is? And am also Dissapointed to discover that such a critical analysis clearly condemns that there's no witchcraft or demonic entities and claiming its a myths? Am alarmed that he is so gullible and naive to believe or assume there's no witchcraft. Witchcraft does exist and its not a myths.
