As a female when I get a house and I’m alone I am definitely getting a dog such as a German Shepard for protection. Dogs are so smart and protective. Right now I live in a huge apartment complex so I feel safe without one but when I get a house I’m getting a dog for sure!

First off, only get a dog if you truly want one for love and companionship. It’s like having a child, so treat it as such. Secondly, German Shepherds have TONS of health problems due to horrific breeding. Watch the documentary “Breeding Dogs to Death,” which addresses this. Finally, if you really do want a dog, go to the shelter and meet a bunch of them. Find a dog that matches your personality and lifestyle. I have a 78lbs pitbull named Charlie, who is a peach with my husband and I, but would gladly shred anyone who comes near us…but he has severe issues. His previous “owners” stabbed, burned, and beat him; then left him to die on the freeway. We work on Charlie’s issues, and never adopted him for protection, but are glad he loves us and wants to keep us safe. It’s the same reason I carry a bowie knife, because I want to keep my dog safe, because he’s my baby and I didn’t adopt him to keep my ass safe. Also, if you are a woman living alone, get one of those security came doorbells, a high voltage taser, pepper spray (or bear mace if legal where you are). They will serve you well.

One time idk why but the light in my basement went out, there was that eerie silence because I was watching TV and now it was quiet. I was up those stairs faster that you could ever imagine. (A side note I have a part of my basement that’s unfinished and it’s right next to the stairs, we call it the back of the basement because there’s a door)

I listened to these stories in our basement. They're all great! It's nice that the boy in the first story got to live in his grandparents' house and not have to buy it. I'm sorry for his grandparents though. 😔 God bless them. I watched my sibling play "Fortnite" with his friend. My group at my college played it, too, one night, but I missed it. I do get to choose when they can play again.
I thought there was an intruder in the last story. If it was a ghost, calling the police was pointless.

Working 3rd shift unarmed security in a 90 yr old mill building can be unnerving. As I was walking through the basement, I heard 3-4 footsteps coming down a short set of steps behind me. Turning around very slowly, I saw and heard absolutely nothing. I still, after more than 20 years, have no explanation for this.
