How did you diagnose it or are you doing it cause you have extra money

Was told to replace it and it’s been some time but I think when it goes bad the car can’t tell if it’s in parking or so on . You might have starting issues because car thinks it’s not in parking . I think if I remember correctly I had to put the car in Neutral to start it because what I think is the switch failed and wouldn’t tell the car that it’s in parking . So if it doesn’t start try to turn the key over then switch to N and then try to start it. Hope that helps

If it's hard to shift gears and you keep breaking column shift tubes this is what's broken

@@nikorootful that’s usually not the issue actually. What causes broken shift tubes is usually just being hard on the shifter and having worn bushings….but most of all what causes broken shift tubes is poorly cast aluminum made dorman ones that are just very cheap

Good question, I think we had some issues with either transmission or starting . Been a while since I replaced it.
