So wonderful!! An umpteenth video i'm watching for the first time, surfing youtube, and finally i could watch what happens inside the Castle!! They were excellent, played beautiful marches, an amazing 'concert' on a sunny day I much appreciated. Thank you very much, MBE, for filming and sharing this stunning and interesting video. Compliments, a great job as you usually do!!!
Thanks Alba, I’m glad you enjoyed. Quite an old video. This is what happens during Easter Court Season (usually a 2 week period around Easter) and Royal Ascot Week (the week that follows the Birthday Parade when Ascot Races takes place). This is due to the sovereign taking official residence at the castle during those times so the guard change happens in the quadrangle in front of their private apartments. However when the monarch is present in the castle throughout the year the ceremony still takes place in the lower ward (like what happens all of the rest of the year) as the sovereign is just using it as a home then and not officially for business. I hope this helps and that you have found videos from the lower ward also.
@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere Good evening MBE, thank you very very much for your detailed explainations, very interesting for me to know more & more. I always appreciate!!
You were in the Castle on the 5th? Nice. I was thinking of doing exactly that. Guess that's as close as anyone gets to the party inside the grounds. Very Interesting to see them milling around and setting up their stuff. Nice job Sir !!!
Cynocephali It was very good to see the ceromony inside the castle and see the band performing music in a concert band set up. It was also intreasting to see the slow marches, which are not performed when the ceromony is in the Lower Ward. I was also lucky thay the weather was not only dry but sunny!
Then we must've passed real close at some point in time. Hell of a good day out there wasn't it. For once, I strolled into open space on Castle Hill. Fab-U-LOUS !!! :D
