One of the best versions. I can think of only a few others that come anywhere close to this one. I think I like this one best! The whole show is amazing and has been a favorite of mine for almost 30 years!!
John khan was the man! This recording was before I was born & by the time I started seeing Jgb in the mid 80's & 90's. John khan was playing a Stienerger headless Bass. His tone was all washed out & lacked what I love about the bass guitar in jam/dance bands. Good thing there was tape!
Flavio ContrerasAponte Jerry's expressway on the that day 2-6-72 is my absolute favorite version of this great tune! Jerry's strat is much more expressive, soaring & way better than repeating 3bars & a bridge over for about 3:24 on my second favorite verion "Expressway 2 ur 💓" just my thoughts anyway!😊
I really would like to see and hear music like this again. I know there is no way anyone can ever do this, but there is no passion in music anymore. The new "dead" thing is bullshit, I refuse to have anything to do with it. I miss being in this moment, when he music makes you feel happy from the depths of your soul to outer space!! and let's face it, you can't hear this without moving and shaking something automatically---a quote by Maceo Parker, as I know few of you have heard it and have the album it's on............k, going back to the tunes now, later gators.
you want to learn real discipline of your mind and energy? listen to tsschaikovsky violin concerto in D. yes there is a direct connection to this. its not that classical music audiences are dull--- they are disciplined. they sit silent and let it all go down and then lose their shit at the end. try it sometime. unreal sensation of being flooded with kundalini. need to take quite a lot of x to feel that otherwise. its like holding off an orgasm for hours. but yeah I agree this song is stunning. the full recording of this show is up whoaduderighteous has it and another expressway into john lennon;s imagine. peace and love
right around 8 minute (but don't you dare skip!) this thing becomes a big struggle- as much due to that drummer as that lead guitar--- struggle that is, for me to hold my shit together
THIS MUSIC IS THE REAL DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS
I was just listening to Harry Potter audio book 🤣🤣

This always boosts my spirits and gets my feet wanting to boogie. One of my favorite jams.
absolutely glorious.....
Check out the original by the Soul Survivors and give them some credit! One funky group, Jerry always knew what songs to cover.
I’d be more inclined to believe this one was chosen by Merl. I always thought this was a Sam & Dave song
Jellyroll sweet! Jerry can noodle my brain away all day. NFA❤
Thanks for sharing!
Ahhh, it's 1973 and I'm at Candyman bar in Fussa Japan. Thanks for the memories
Just wonderful.A bass sound to die for.

What if I told you a version exists with lyrics? Not Jerry singing, one of the backup singers, and man is it what I needed!
The original cut by the Soul Survivors has the lyrics. Jerry had amazing taste in all forms of music of course.
Kahn!!!!👍👍
Sweet
