  • Stihl Pole Saw HT56C Pole Pruner | Belted Galloway Homestead
I purchased a Stihl Pole Saw HT56C Pole Pruner to help with the trimming around the homestead. It is a gas-powered, two-piece lightweight saw.

The Stihl Pole Saw HT56C Pole Pruner has made trimming trees very easy around the homestead.

I have this same pole saw. Have had it a few years now with no problems, the only thing I see that I don't like is the pole is bowing because you have to push down while cutting. Don't know if you can turn the head or not but I'm going to ask the next time I'm at the dealer. Other than that it's been great.

Thanks for the info. I have replaced the chain on mine and flipped the bar. I have not tried sharpening the chain yet. Would take a small file. Thanks for reaching out!

I have the extendable pole saw with their strange 2 stroke mix 4 cycle engine. I did rig up a hydraulic saw to attach to the Bobcat and it makes high cutting so easy!

I have seen the hydraulic driven chain saw and thought it would work. Have you ever applied to much pressure with the bobcat (not hyd pressure) to stall or bend the saw. The bobcat is very strong, I I worried I would just break the saw.

Whats your best guess on the max total reach from your hands to a limb when its extended all the way out ? Thanks

Thanks for the question. Please keep in mind that this saw does not extend. It is fixed length. Overall length of the Stihl Pole Saw HT56C is 110.4 inches. I have placed one hand on the back of the engine and the other on the throttle trigger. With that in consideration, I would say that 98 inches would be the max total reach from throttle trigger hand. Thanks again!

@@BeltedGallowayHomestead thanks for the reply. i went out and bought the HT-131 today. it extends to right at 12 feet. but DAMN its heavy ! i also bought the PP-800 manual pruning saw that extends about 20 feet. between the 2 , i think i have it all covered for clearing overgrowth at the house.
