As an avid Adobe Premiere user, I’ve always wanted to meet the people who are behind the development of this software, so I was truly happy to see Adobe responding favorably to my offer by inviting me to spend a few days with Patrick Palmer (Principal Product Manager) and some of his Adobe Premiere team members. I hope you will take a minute (or 19) to sit back and enjoy this exclusive “behind the scenes” journey.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop since 1999. I was 11 year old when the Photoshop 5.0 came out and it was running on a Pentium III processor based PC we had. We were one of the first few to buy it in India. I still remember it was first time Adobe had introduced Magnetic Lasso tool. I was just helping my Dad with his work, sitting on his lap just after my school hours. What an awesome era it was back then. I would love to visit Adobe if I get any chance in future. This tour made me nostalgic. Thanks for this video and the inside tour of Adobe that brought back my memories.
PS: I am still using Adobe for all my work even today ! Woah!! 20+ years of Adobe in my life ! 😊✌
While I don't particularly agree with the business direction which Adobe has taken their product line (subscription model and rolling updates) I feel utmost respect for their creative and engineering advances.

Wow, lots of aggressiveness on the comments. My 10 cents: First thanks Johnnie for doing this. Secondly I have been using Premiere since 2002, Avid since 2005 and Final cut from 2007. Also DaVinci the last 3 years. Nothing wrong with any of these software. Different tools for different projects. Last year we edited 12 documentaries 50min each that broadcasted in national TV and everything went fine with Premiere latest editions on a Mac Pro. No crashes, some bugs here and there but OK people. Learn different tools and use then accordingly.
Thank you for this great sneek peak. While Adobe has made great progress on Premiere and After Effetcs, I can see Photoshop being reduced to a "fun tool" in comparison to Premiere and After Effects
Ive been using davinci for the past 2 years. I also have membership with Adobe Creative Cloud. Premiere works the best when it comes to multicam editing and sound synchronization. But this video was really informative. Thanks

I'm from Southern CA ( Los Angeles), I used to drive up north to San Francisco, Now I just take a 35-40 min flight instead of driving that long boring drive.
I think it is best 19 minutes of reasons why you must never pay to Adobe anything for their temporary rented products.

You also help a lot, by showing how this company waste hard working people money and still can't think on how to spend them more in least efficient way possible, just read their finance reports if you did not do it already. But something tells me that idea of whole video came after reading them.

Did you see the doctor lately? Can be dangerous addiction, especially if you try to plot numbers of your income and their profits. Or their profits and number of still unfixed and accumulating nasty bugs in their software. Kind of revealing stuff, you know.

If one disagrees with Adobe's business model, then just use something else. That's what I do.
How they make money is up to them.
The market in general seems willing to accept it, so there is likely no going back from the subscription model for them.
There is little value in complaining about it. Rather, use Adobe's own changes as a catalyst to effect change in our own lives. Learn a new editing program. Study a new technique. Shoot a different type of film.
Make the proverbial lemonade. Don't squirt the lemon juice in one's own eyes.

My problem with Adobe is that they are totally non friendly to subscribers. I by what I’ve seen in this video, their employees are incredible talented people, but maybe they should hire more young people

I was tended to click away at 3:00 when Steve started his marketing passion bla bla... Adobe has become the new Microsoft. They are confusing Photoshop users withe every update by the stupid change of shortcuts. The innovative things in Premiere are the ones they copied from FCPX. Accepting the traveling cost from Adobe is a very poor move from Cinema5D.
At some point @ 16:51 the color grading dissapears in the shot of Patrick right before going to the next shot. Otherwise, great video!

How much did Adobe pay for this piece? Well shot and interesting, but I realized this is a sales pitch when David Kuspa claimed Premiere is the number one video editor in use. Avid Media Composer is still the most used non-linear editing application in the professional news, television, and film markets. Premiere has a large following in the prosumer space because it's more affordable. Don't get me wrong, I use Premiere for my own personal projects, but my professional work is done using Avid.
Hi Brandon. Adobe responded to our request to visit their HQ. They paid the flight and accommodation for my trip. Nothing else when it comes to work itself. We had complete freedom playing with the content and did what ever is right to do for that film. Anyway, adding my disclaimer from the article to YT so all is clear. Nothing to hide.

Well the statement is correct in terms of total number of people using premiere pro, perhaps not in the news/television/film markets, but certainly in the way larger in every other use case, I really dont see how this is a sales pitch.

Fun BTS. Adobe though.... they really need to fix stability issues in their video applications, especially AE. It's a mess. After 15 ish years using Adobe products I've completely dumped all of their software for other solutions.
Still lots of ancient code from the CoSa days. Sad that there isn't any alternative layer-based compositing software. Boris Red came close but development seems to have halted.
