- Explore the shaver lake area, I always wanted to fish Balsam Forebay just located north of shaver lake ca and explore a few creeks near by for little action

Brook and brown trout are not native to CA, they should be kept.
@@nickna694 browns haven't been stocked since the late 80's and haven been pretty predominant in our ecosystem. I feel they deserve a place as much as rainbows. Maybe not the Redland which are native but more than a stocker trout. If your gonna take a trout from our mountains just stick with stockers. We already have too much of a overfishing problem
@@brownbouy3043 who told you they dont stock brown trout? 5 Hatcheries in California still raise them, here is an example .... wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Hatcheries/Crystal-Lake/Species-Raised
@@nickna694 from a fish and game biologist. Certain lakes they do but they don't stock browns in the sierra national forest. Havent since late 80's. Brooks still get air dropped into high alpine lakes and so do certain golden trout
Only been there once. Caught a bass on a rooster tail and that was it. Need to check it out again if there's trout like that there.

Wet your hands before handling those small fish or they wont survive.
