We teach a similar two step elbow lock at my gym, only difference is we keep our feet closer to the hips when we hop up so the shins are at more of a 45 degree angle with the ground, with live toes, to make it more difficult for the bottom guy to push you backwards
@@jesuscisneros3873 I understand. I can guarantee you that Jacare never taught those guys to do it that way, back when he helped create the Combatives course. We get a lot of guys who have been through the course, in our gym. Its a great starting point. Keep at it!
Richard Clark moves have slightly change with time but not updated throughout the ranks. Also, some moves were adapted based on the fact that soldiers are fighting with full gear. Thanks for your input!

Hmm, I probably would’ve done a better job trapping the arm. In your initial setup, the dude could’ve just pulled arm back
James A Lafayette I agree, that is just the step by step move. A lot of explaining so they can understand, real time, the arm will not have a chance!
hopping up to the feet is not the best idea. There are lots of videos on youtube to show much better armor from mount technique...
Richard Clark just keep in mind that the moves are based on the army combatives curriculum unless it has been lately updated

With all due respect, but the position is wrong.
