of topic question: Are the ASUS Z&() ProArtCreator boards a good purchase even with the current ASUS problems? I am an audio production enthusiast not going to overclaock and intend all components to be recommended parts.
Are you referring to the AM5 x3d chip overheating problems? If so, that was specific to their highest end boards, and only when running an AM5 processor with the larger L3 cache (x3d). That problem was resolved several months ago. If you get a new board, simply update the BIOS. In regards to the ProArt series, the main advantage of those boards is the 10Gb Ethernet speed (for fast transfer of large files). Most of the similarly priced 670e boards to the ProArt come with 2.5 Gb Ethernet connection speeds. Other than that and the aesthetics, there isn't a huge difference between that and another 670e Asus board. For example the Asus ROG Strix 670e. As you work in audio production, I assume you use an external DAC, in which case the audio codecs of the different boards are probably of little interest to you (some use higher quality codecs than others). If it was specifically an AM5 Asus motherboard you were looking for, that you weren't going to overclock, then I would consider the Asus B650e-e. It has many of the 670e features at a lower price with plenty of connectivity on the rear IO. I'd only pick the ProArt if you 1. Wanted the aesthetic (for an office environment) 2. Wanted the 10Gb NIC if you really want a 10Gb NIC you could also buy any other motherboard of your choosing and simply buy a dedicated 10Gb NIC. An Asus model for example would cost about $110.
@@TheSwayzeTrain So nice of you to respond. I agree there isn't much difference except the Thunderbolt 4 I/O on the ASUS ProArt , ,,,, 2 TB4 connections which I will probably need for orchestral sample use with a thunderbolt M.2 enclosure and 4TB storage enclosure. ~ I'll revisit the Z760e series, There has been so little chatter from the you tubers who do builds etc about any current legal or simply customer(consumer) reflections of the overheating AM5 chips calamity. Not even any noticeable comment or return to building with ASUS boards for the You tubers. The ProArt does have the single PCIe gen 5 connected to the processor with the 2 TB4 connects too. I intended on using the 1713700k with integrated graphics. They are better than what is in my now ancient Dell PC so,,, should be ok. Allthough another couple months and the 14700 will be out. Not sure if that's worth the extra wait. The Pro art also has the DDR5 and I'm wondering if the current ProArt Z790 will have heat issues with that. But, like you say , I'm doing audio production so absolutely no Overclocking . 1. Wanted the aesthetic (for an office environment)
2. Wanted the 10Gb NIC
if you really want a 10Gb NIC you could also buy any other motherboard of your choosing and simply buy a dedicated 10Gb NIC.
If you have any ideas about the new i7 14700K or the worthiness of waiting for the extra boost(supposedly about 21%) please, by all means share your thoughts and Thanks again for the info. Great videos too.
nice man good jop
Tanks
I love your work, learning a lot from you. I myself want to pursue this as hobby now and learn enough to be able to make money. Where are you from, I heard you speaking Russian in past video, my family is from Belarus, but i was born in US.
I am from Russia.
@@northwestrepair super cool man, your English is really good. Do you have any pointers for me? Where can I begin to learn, where should I start?
@@northwestrepair I’ve gone back and watched almost every single video over past 3 days of yours. I’ve watched close to all of them. I’m
Moving to Colorado in 3 weeks so gonna look to pick up some tools once I do.
What would cause those gouges?
No idea. Card was sealed from factory. No one opened it before.
Maybe the die started cracking and the gouge is actually a start of a crack?
@@TheBlueBunnyKen that's what they call a "reverse psychology" 😂
It's not the fist that punched the face, it's the face that punched the fist.

Yes !
Feed it!
Too many videos, we're gonna overdose.
You didn't identified the bug ;-)
Sorry. I should have.
where are you located sir?
You can easily determine the value of a corroded resistor. Corrosion usually affects only the contacts, so by gently scraping off the corrosion, you can reveal the resistive layer on the top and then measure it with a multimeter 😉
Not always. I could not measure the resistor.
So you accept console repairs? I'm lost with some of my hardware 😢
never fixed a console on my life but willing to try anything really.
The repair cost is the same no matter the device so it has to make sense to fix it in the first place.
I'd like to send a card, but it would cost an arm and a leg to get there across the ocean 😱
Name of the song on 2:50 pls ..…
amazing....
According to your experience who makes the best GPUs from a cooling and overall build quality aspect? I wanna know where I'm gonna spend my hard earned dollar!! Thank you for the amazing videos
This guy is amazing af!!! You are awesome!
