How does the pricing work? How much can you explore the world data until hitting the free tiers limit? Also is it possible to just save the transmitted data from the api and then just use it locally so that you don't have to rely on a expensive api?
Google finally released the pricing for this API, it's 6 usd per 1000 tiles. (check out mapsplatform.google.com/pricing/) It makes it real expensive to have it running continuously. Technically you can buffer and export the maps, but that's not something I think Google wants devs to do as per their terms. I hope they can enable an offline version so we can explore further and create more compelling 3D experiences in this digital twin of the planet, it will save devs money and will also improve loading times!

Apologies for the delay, you can try it with any regular gaming PC, adjusting settings for performance (ie: rendering of fewer tiles, level of detail, etc). As this is streaming live, it also requires good bandwidth. Good luck with your projects!

Saving all of that data will be extremely expensive. They only downloaded a few places I think.
