Great ride! 🧐 I had this idea the day although slightly different: April 11th 2021 - Set off from our home in Shropshire and ride the 330 mile non-stop round trip to/from Barnard Castle (just outside Durham) to test our eyes. Arrive at Barnard Castle in the dark (thus not being able to see it) then head home for the night shift! April 12th - Arrive home in the morning to celebrate Mary Cummings’ birthday. Raising money for our local NHS charity, our local food bank, and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
This was well worth waiting for! I literally didn't put two and two together when I saw the title. I thought this would be just a ride to the opticians. Ahh well, not the most exciting of videos I thought! How wrong I was. Should have realized it would be more than just that. Another entertaining and light hearted video from another great idea. You were right Cameron some of us at this time need a little more of this light hearted stuff, keep bringing them on! BTW the end when you have your result...pure genius. 😂👍🚴
Dude! I just purchased a new bike ( first road bike) and I was deciding between Ribble and canyon. Then I was Like oh shit doesn’t Cameron ride a Ribble ! So I got that one. I didn’t know it was the exact same bike you had though till I watched this video haha. Thanks for the inspiration man!

I was verbally told 21 working days and the bike would be sent, currently at 30 working days and still showing as "in picking". I have no idea when it will arrive.

GlaxoSmithKline have a vaccine manufacturing plant at Barnard Castle. I'd guess that's a better explanation for why the chief "health" minister visited the town.
But why did he then not just say that instead of telling that completely absurd story? Had he just said, he had a meeting at that plant, it would make sense - as a goverment advisor he after all should help search for solutions to the crisis, and manifacturing vaccines is a big part of that. I dont think that is true, to be honest. I think all he said is just a bunch of absurd lies. Driving (!) to get your eyes tested... I think he just was there for leisure, and invented that story afterwards.

I've got fond memories of Ribblehead Viaduct...a definite must visit, looks spectacular in the rain and mist of autumn/winter and watching a helicopter rescue on an adjoining mountain...Ingleton's a cute little place too which is close by.

Nice route, finishing over the stang: so managed to bag another of the 100climbs👍: not one of the toughest in the dales, but a lovely climb none the less, especially when there's snow around.
You should participate in Gullegem Koerse next season, its a race in Belgium where Lampaert and Van Avermaet have won in the past few years, i think you will love this race

As a local councillor in Surrey and keen cyclist I think I also need to ride to Barnard Castle for an eye test might do the ride on one of my Eroica compliant cycles or perhaps a tandem as I too have not had my eyes tested for a couple of years!
