the best mclaughlin outfit....
should be more live albums by this band....
Greatest live gig i have ever seen and i have seen some great bands but this was by far the tighest. Bar none
one of my favorite mclaughlin bands...matt garrison w/chambers
These guys come from another planet !!
The best of the best by a mile.
Possibly the craziest drumsolo ever. Saw them on the North Sea Jazz Festival back then. I had brainfood for months.
Sick playing by Mr Garrison!
Omg Jim Beard has a JP-8000. I so regret I sold that one
Great stuff; thanks for honoring all the players by including credits.
Une mitrailleuse a musique 🎉
This is good stuff!
epic gary thomas theme
wow his solos are incredibe here! he kinda has that cruncy dirty tone that makes me go nuts!
That bass between ~3-8 min is soooo evil!
great musiciens !!
Que lindo esto
muy prolijo el toque. abrazo Juancito
had to be Chambers ,he can make anything swing !
He's going through a ring modulator.
oei Dennis Chambers
Full show?
theres one from stuttgard(sp) thats amazing on youtube...
If that's me in 73 count me in.
Maltfusion That's now, he's 56 here. Still good now, mind you.
what pedal use john in his solo?
david vargas that sounds like his ring modulator...not dialled up like Miles Beyond (Inner Worlds) but just enough to give the guitar tone a bit of attitude.
Basil Ganglia if you love JM then you're used to abrasive argumentative guitar tones :p
He's deliberately messing up the tone with a ring modulator (same device used for Dalek sound effect lol). It sounds rough edgy...and quite delicious to these ears :)
he used ring modulator from sony m7.
WRONG ALBUM or wrong song title!
I can confirm that this is Gary Thomas' tune The Divide

Lacking of humility, and groove.
you don't climb mountains
doing the same old steps....
fusion was born because jazz was fucked....miles was the same....try new stuff out - even if people don't like it....
YEAH...OK just say you cant comprehend whats actually happening and its beyond your understanding... its ok
..that fat Gibson, L5 maybe, is really nice..nice edgy performance. Need a few more listens for sure..June 20, 2020 ..New York
jimmy smith gibson
OMG! One of my favorite of all times but the bass??? When he he gets it right, he's boring but even worse, he gets it wrong most of the times..I don't mean to be over-critical but, I've been listening to JML all my life and I can't figure out what he was thinking with the bass-dude...
Mcluaghlin as the leader of the group probably told Bass man to play it that way..
The bass makes this completely authentic. awesome!
george42007 OK, so he no Wilbur Garrison, just his son. Check out Jack DeJohnette “In Movement” with Ravi Coltrane ...
It's called being funky; he never misses a beat...
Lol dude wtf are you talking about???? He nailed it, dude is freaking amazing musician, just like his old man was
